Why has Imran Khan and the PTI failed to deliver?

One of the biggest reasons for Government to not perform well is because they went to IMF. IMF policies strangulated the Country and people, leaving less funds for Government to invest on people.

Probably funds were less to begin with and IMF stopped govt from splurging borrowed money ? If you are borrowing money from banks for subsidies, is that sound economic plan ?

He allowed to get himself utilized by financial thugs who had vested interests.

Thinker3 actually thinking, no, BELIEVING that IK's govt is the first govt to go to the IMF.

Kon log ho tussi.

Lawless country and you send a new Sheriff in town without a gun or back up and expect the results how?????????????????????
Judges, police, lawyers, doctors, officials, politicians, awam all corrupt to the core. They will just turn round and will tell any straight forward man "either you are with us or against us simple" what you do then run for your life or leave the country.

Biggest blunder PTI made was politically.

1. Buzdar. IK came to fight corruption and appointed must corrupt as CM of Punjab. CM KP was no better either. Just compare khattak with current CM who people don't even know about. IK wanted dummy as CM so its all on him.

2. He is as dim as you can get. Knowing fully well he became PM thanks to likes of ATM Tareen, Aleem etc And decide to back stab them in first year. Knowing fully well establishment got him to PM seat, he decide to play boss with them.

Now all these electable who joined PTI because winds were changing direction. And establishment have become neutral. He didn't even have simple majority yet behaved like King of England. By next week he will be gone and may never become PM again.

So its combination of corruption and bad governance. And not to forgot putting all his opponents in jail while no corruption case is ever proved in court.

On economic front PTI was best government in last 40 years. We are finally going towards industrialisation.

Delivery is a process, not an event.
Did people expect IK to come and flick a switch and everything would be fine?
He has laid the groundwork in very difficult circumstances in the face of disruption from the opposition parties and Covid. He needs time to bring his plans to fruition.

There are many other ways things can work and Government can generate funds than increasing taxes or borrowing from banks.

Who is not using his mind? You just assumed by yourself that I don't know of previous IMF programs.
Does again and again going to IMF helped Pakistan? We just got more indebted and people suffering increased. If other governments made mistake of going to IMF this government did not learn from them and again went to them, and are here today barely surviving.
And worst thing of all, those previous governments were subservient to the Isreal, US and EU who control IMF and world financial system, and IK openly took stand Againt Isreal and later against US and EU, as a result more strangulation from IMF. IK did the right thing of standing up but on one hand he stood up and on other gave the country's entire economy to them even State Bank. What do you think would have happened?

Pakistanis don't pay taxes in dollars Pakistan goes to IMF because it needs dollars
There are other ways to Increase dollars or get less reliant on dollar.

What is the worst thing during IK tenure for common people, if you ask any common people they will say economic performance, inflation etc, who control economy in Pakistan? IMF, so who is responsible for this economic crisis? And whose mistake it is to bring IMF again into Pakistan and give them complete control of the economy, even gave them the State Bank?

One start for any govt should be land reform. Land lord system should be abolished.
That's where India excelled and we failed, miserably. However, this is not possible any more because for this one requires 2/3rd majority in the Parliament where most of the Parliamentarians are either land lords or their appointed stooges. Such a bill will never transition into law in Pakistan.

- Was it because of too much idealism by the leader IK in his pre-election, campaign rhetoric which was completely out of sync with the ground realities of the country and how the country needed to actually be governed? End result he has badly alienated his supporters, the educated, middle class who expected him to swiftly end all their problems with a magic wand?

- Was it because in the effort to gain power, he had to bring in electables from other parties but that has resulted in the party being filled with yes men, opportunists, badniyat individuals who are actually working behind the PTI leaders back?

- Was it because of the leader IK just having badniyat intentions from the very start?

- Was it because the leader IK completely underestimated the power of the opposition who have had massive tentacles in the state and its institutions i.e. the police, judiciary, SBP, FBR, bureacracy and federal, provincial ministries and he in term blindly, immaturely thought that all these institutions would be easily fixable?

- Was it because the leader IK squandered a golden opportunity to go after the opposition brutally like a dictator and naively expected the state institutions to efficiently and justly hold them accountable in a speedy and just manner?

- Was it because he did not correctly prioritize the issues he needed to address expediently and made the mistake of focusing too much on issues, policies that will not really switch the electoral results in his favour?

- Overconfidence and arrogance that the army will continue to indefinately back him and that he did not really need to deliver quick, fast, urgent results to switch the electorate votes in his favour?

- Just overall incompetency i.e. he tried his best but governing Pakistan was totally beyond his capabilities.

I personally think it is a combination of the above. Even IK diehard supporters are now resigned to acknowledge that no matter whatever problems or challenges IK and the PTI had to face and encounter during the tenure, the bottom line is that they were the party in charge in the federal government, the buck stops at the bottom line which is they did not deliver at all and they have left Pakistan in a ten times worse state then when they took charge and if the common person on the street is ten times worse off vs when they took charge then there is no point of them governing the country.

The biggest tragedy about this whole saga and experience is that i seriously doubt the educated class, middle class, youth, overseas Pakistani's will ever participate in Pakistani elections ever again and will ever have faith in any new face. In fact it is now very much possible where the traditionally strong political parties like PML N, PPP e.t.c will now reference the PTI experience and propagate "Corrupt but Competent" is always the right, best choice for the nation vs "Non-Corrupt but incompetent". An untried person, a new person cannot be trusted to govern Pakistan as everyone has seen and experienced with the PTI

That is very naive analysis.
The political government's job is legislation and policy making.
It is the civil service's job to execute the policy.
The political government is neither capable of nor trained to do that.
the best of policy and planning will fail if the civil service is not capable.

We all know who and how runs the civil service.

Bell the cat,
the ESTA code needs to be revised.
The rules of business 1977 need to be thrown out.

Imran khan did not failed. Pakistanis who were waiting for man o salwa without hard work made him fail.

A nation of 225 million is importing everything and asking govt for subsidy in every imported goods.
