I am about late Into the game as Chinese government try to crack down on this new game becos the most gel blasters are made to look like real firearms. Something very similar to airsoft but less lethal. Most gel blasters hit on your arm or body wouldn't leave any mark of injury. Plus, they are much cheaper compare to airsoft.

Currently owning a M4A1 gen 8. Always reliable and plenty of upgrade.

Gel Gun: Very very Tiny little beads that when soaked in water swell up to a BB (ball-bearing) size.

Paintball: shoots big gel spheres pre-filled with "paint". Requires a facemask due to eye-damage capability. unless you bruise easily this isn't going to leave a mark.

Airsoft gun: Shoots plastic BB's. Hit with this is likely going to hurt a little.

BB gun: Shoots tiny metal ball-bearings. This is not fun to get hit with and some places in the US have bans.

Pellet gun: shoots tiny metal slugs. Definitely don't want to get hit by one. This will do some damage. People use it for hunting.
