Who is the greatest Muslim ruler of the subcontinent and why?

They were backbone of hindustani faction in mughal darbar during turmoiled era which started by death of jahandar shah and ended after muhammad shah became emperor. They were great generals who made farrukh siyar emperor by their bravery single handedly .

Razia sultana was greatest sultan of india.
Sim to ek hi lagti thi lekin mulla zalimon ne kam nahi karne dia .

Aurangzeb apne baap ka bhi nahi hua na apne bacho ka .

Glad to know someone knows about Syed Brothers it seems like they are lost in history.

Dara Shikoh almost brought the Mughal empire to its knees and would have effectively become a vassal to other powers.

Sultan Aurangzeb Alamgir was a more traditional ruler, relying on the Mughal power base, instead of outside powers.

This is a very blatant rewriting of history in Hindutva India. We know you hate Sultan Aurangzeb Alamgir, but please refrain from rewriting history.

Historical revisionism at work.

Quaid e Azam, thank you for Pakistan.

Allah swt bless Sultans Khilji, Tughluq, and Aurangzeb Alamgir with the highest paradise and best reward.

We can only aspire to live in the shadow of such great heroes and legends.
Can I know how Dara Suko has bought Mughals to knees?
Alamgir a great muslim!!! He killed his brothers, jailed his father for throne. He didn't helped the cause to make Islam a religion of peace.
Ahimsa was preached by Mahavira & Buddha long before Ashoka. Ashoka was able to propagate it better due to his influence and rule.
You are right. My bad.

I know that. Dara Shukoh, who was imprisoned and killed by his younger brother Aurangzeb, actually did many such translations from Sanskrit to Persian. But the point is those were not historical records. They were related to Hindu Philosophy. Indians did not have a tradition of documenting and preserving history. Partly due to the Hindu belief not to care about bodily life. This is the same reason why Hindus burn the dead instead of preserving or burying in caskets or building tombs for the dead. We take the ash of the burnt dead bodies and mix it in rivers and oceans to symbolize that we no longer care for the dead. We only care for the Atman (Soul).
But the point is that those who try to paint the Mughals as purely anti-Sanatum Dharmics who cared not one iota for the native peoples...well it does not fit with the picture that Audrey has uncovered...the Mughals were interested in Dharmic philosophy otherwise they would not commission translations...

“Muslims cry today for palaces and buildings they left behind in Spain, but Muslims left behind even greater palaces and buildings in Hind.

For every piece of land conquered in Hind, thousands of Muslim shuhada lives were given.”

Why dont this mullah also rectify the fact that millions of Hindus were killed and many hindu women were raped in the name of Islam when muslims conquered India? However these mullahs only cry foul when anything happens to muslims in gujrat or muzzafarnagar
What is your definition of genocide?

That is the first question.

Also do not forget that most Muslims in (Subcontinent) India are the descendants of native converts.

None of them really followed Islam in the fullest sense at least not in the political realm.

Slave Dynasty protected India from the Mongol invasions. Mongols invaded half of the world but not India.

This was in part due to the same agile war tactics that Turks had to their Mongol cousins.:D
Taimur Lang invaded India and reached Dehli. He was brutal to the extent and that nobody had the balls to resist his advances. Sultan Mahmud Shah, the Sultan of the Tughlaq dynasty chose to flee Dehli for instance.

Pervez Musharraf. After Khalid bin Walid, he was the most brave army chief ever known in history of world.
I doubt there ever will be one like him again in future.

Before the advent of the Islamic rulers into India, India was one of the major economies in the world. It had top universities like Takshashila and Nalanda. People from from all over the world came to India for studies. So Arabs, Turks, Persians and Mongols have all translated Sanskrit texts to other languages. Mathematics/Algebra, Science, Philosophies have all spread from India to Europe via the Arab Caliphates who have translated them into Arabic. This translations does not prove ones love or hate for Indian culture. To give an analogy, There are many people who go to US and study while still hating the US.

Having said this, I consider Mughals to be much less brutal than original Arab invaders. Mughals were the least religious of the lot. My reading of Aurangzeb was that when he took over the reigns, the kingdom was totally bankrupt. He had to take loans from Islamic rulers outside India and to please them he went full throttle in implementing Sharia and other taxes on non-Muslims. This is akin to Pakistan taking loans from Gulf which forces them to implement very hardcore right wing policies through their madrassas.

Yes. I had already stated that in the below post. Mughals were also descendants of the Mongols.
