I did search for that combination and found one forum, although it doesn't seem very active. Did recognise some old IDs from PDF.
Not saying that we Indians are any better, but Indian opinions almost always get trolled in PDF. I suspect this is because of Indians being preachy and getting on the nerves, and then the trolling cycle continues. I believe myself to be a centrist, but that is not a position anyone recognises any longer. Leftists view you as a closet Sanghi and right wing sees you as a confused fence sitter lacking an identity. There isn't any room left for balanced viewpoints.
I understand, and I was seemingly harsh upon some of you when I was fresh off the starting block here in the current snapshot....there was a whole build up to whats gone on here that I have scoped a bit more since and moderated my views with that context.
To me the symptom is clear: Double standards and doubling down upon these double standards by inflictor and participant alike (hence my reference to the "Dhimmi complex" for the generalised Indian "trolling" presence here at this late stage - there is no real drive to learn and contribute actually useful things or improve things but just a quantitative abusive approach to whichever other sort of troll or folks like jamahir and others who seem to be here to make up for lack of friends in real world to vent their personal psyche issues upon). i.e things that are being indulged and grown that really should not be.... with some folks you can even see their earlier phases that were different to one they have now as they simply got addicted to PDF emotional rabbit holes.
Anyway I mostly just read defence fora broadly to get an idea of some topics of interest to me....so I noticed some fissures, voids and so on over time....combined with me being friends in real life with some of the higher level participants, each giving me their take on what happened and the reasons why (that I then piece together like a rashomon analysis).
I have quickly searched and found names like "Bharat Rakshak" "sinodefence" "Indian defence forum" and others being used repeatedly by members (including mods) here with no penalty on them...so I will just state the forum I am mentioning earlier here : "defence hub". Others might also be spawning too I am unaware about, but I generally just follow discourse of notables (people I actually learn from, whether I agree or disagree with them upon something) wherever they end up going.
I prefer quality over quantity, each forum has their way of going about it. I think PDF missed out heavily by not having more mods for individual (country specific) sections when it had enough qualitative window to do so and balance this better.
Now its fully just consequences of that missed opportunity (and the window was not some small narrow one, there was PLENTY of time from what I can see of the history of this forum's phases).
Other fora learn from that mistake, they wont have the scale that PDF still holds, but I can get to the meat of a matter far quicker when theres actual coherent adjudicating and moderating structure extended to all (e.g each large country presence gets their own mod etc)....that essentially nips all the downsides regarding mass unkempt trolling (and counter reactionary grievance costs) in the bud.
Otherwise the results are plain to see.....you can see them for yourself here.
Now what people enjoy to participate in, thats matter of their own taste in the end. Most of this forum is not to mine....it takes too much time now to find anything actually being honestly debated and exchanged in good faith to get somewhere.
So I can see why it has shed what it has shed....simply to retain some notion of raw volume at all cost, no matter what that costs and indulges in things that matter much more in the end IMO.
"Quantity has a quality all of its own" was deliberately made to win out here. Too bad.
