@Kaptaan

The thread was closed so I am replying to it here. I disagree with you my brother about the Bengalis. We treated them very rough. And this includes not only us muhajirs who imposed urdu on them but others as well. I don't mean to insult you, my pashtun brother and I myself am more attached to pashtuns than what my family/relatives call themselves (our relatives on pakistan side are muhajir nationalists despite some nominal pashtun links which have not been proven to be fact). But Bengal was mistreated by us. We held the Bengalis and continue to hold them in scant regard.

However Luffy's stance is perplexing. He is from a country (Pakistan) built in desperation after the Indians failed to give muslims their basic rights and then divided the largest muslim state in the world by supporting the formation of a nation on the base of ethnicity (Bangladesh).

If @Luffy 500 is indeed so committed to Islamic chauvinism he should first condemn the formation of Bangladesh. But if he fails to then the presence of Bangladesh proves that Islam or any religion does not have the bonding power alone to maintain a nation. Ethnic groups should be given their due, language and culture should be promoted, human rights should be optimal. If the break up of Bengal proved anything it was this, if not the break up of the final Ottoman caliphate on the basis of race and ethnicity.

There is always good governance, administration and respect for cultures that makes a nation, not just religious hogwash. But we never understand this. The rest of your post I agree with fully here.

@haviZsultan No offence mate but you know this lethal coctail of Islamism was injected into Pakistan by migrants from India post 1947. Religion was used to artifice varied ethnic groups - this cynical attempt to use religion to connect with the locals has had a terrible effects as can be seen. Almost all religious groups were predominantly supported by migrant groups from India right upto late 1970s by which time the infection had taken root inside Pakistan.

Bizzarely the original Islamists have turned to secular politics with the rise of mQM. Even now if you remove religion out of the equation what are you left with? Rest of the population can fall back on their Pashtun, Punjabi, Sindhi heritage but what about those from India? They just become 'Indians'.

I agree with this part. Even our own relatives before the MQM was formed voted for the Jamaat E Islami. Our grandfather from my fathers side is extremely and excessively conservative. At one time he was the terror of the house, forcing everyone to pray (almost at gunpoint)... so I agree. Even I have trouble when I go there because they force you to be a good muslim. (As you would have noticed I have no problem with Islam-but I don't like being pushed and told how to obey my religion.)

There are exceptions though. My grandfather from my mothers side was very religious but I never knew him as an imposer of religion. So there are good and bad people everywhere. The world is filled with the orthodox and unorthodox. Allah made us different, with different thinking. It is perhaps so we understand each other and love each other regardless of our views. No two people will ever be the same and it is the beauty of Allah.

Anyway, back to what you said. Muhajirs are the one community that has always been at the forefront of harming Pakistan. Voting for mullahs wasn't our only fault. Imposing urdu on other groups, like pashtuns who had nothing, no interest in it has harmed the very foundation of Pakistan. We also have command of many institutions, especially in Karachi, but we did not let Sindhis or Pathans benefit from it. In 71 urdu speaking elite and writers wrote rubbish about Bengal and expressed their nonacceptance of Bengali as an equal sovereign language. We can blame the Punjabis all we want like our MQM supporting relatives do but it can't hide the truth.

So I agree here. I am very openly critical of my ethnic group. I do not even believe in ethnicity but am an advocate of Pakistani nationalism, a Pakistan where Ahmedis, Christians and Hindus have the same right as me and there is no differentiation between ethnicity.

Wish you the best, Kaptaan, my brother. If you do not agree with me feel free to disagree for that is the remark-ability of debate. Lets continue to discuss for in discussion we can find ways to improve our beloved Pakistan.

The thread
I disagree with lot of what you say but then I also find convergence on many things you advocate. That is life. We can't agree with everybody all the time. I can't even agree with myself half of the time - from what I might have said yesterday. However I find you agreeable because of your very refined temperament and of course because you paddle against the mullahs - we need every secularist there is, as it is there is precious few of us. When I get more time I will address some of the points you made. All the best.

Aur jab say sala dalia shuru kia hay pait hay kay theak honay ka nam he nai lay ra (may be its because I have gone for pure fresh milk).

Yaar anything healthy is not tasty. Golden rule of life. And everything tasty (not just food ...) is extremely unhealthy. I have normal oats. Quaker oats. In milk. Usmein there are two types. Blue tin and golden yellow tin. I have the unrefined one. No stomach problems. But huge hunger for lunch. Sometimes in desperation I have eggs. I love eggs. I have zero cholesterol issues. Don't know what the problem is. Running is great if you are not on the heavy side and have good knees. I am negative for both (courtesy a bad accident in college days). I love swimming. And I love cycling. Aur aaj kal these new puppy fads. There is this app thingy called Strava which has me hooked. I am totally into it. And for a technology dinosaur I have taken to it like a duck to water. I am called Strava puppy in my group. Socho.

Plus I am a pharia (you know people from hilly area) walking, climbing, hiking is all I did throughout my primary school days. Ub I think its time to prepare for Burhapa.

You guys have a massive physiological advantage over us flat landers. I feel so happy when I see rosy cheeked kids with heavy school bags on their back happily walking uphill laughing and talking and playing pranks. Uphill means you know what I mean uphill. The kind which will make guys like me get extremely serious and focused and woe be unto the fool who tries to talk to me while I am into it. LOL And these kids do it from birth. So aerobic sports are really not a problem for them. Their muscles. Their lungs. Their blood. All geared towards altitude and low O2.

P.S. Tond to sabki hoti hai bhai. I am 180 cm and 92 kilos (probably 90 in just my towel). Aur batao!
