What are the views of Bangladeshis towards Pakistan?

The plan of mujeeb ur rehman was to forget thr past and move on..so he visited pakistan and exactly said the same thing....however, recent poitics means that the new generation will hate us to.the core as that is how haseena wants to counter zia

Hmm not true...they have some hate due to the history but also love because of the religion. History will recede into the past with time but the religious love will stay..

Despite the past, most BD people want a successful Pakistan.

The only interaction I've had with citizens from Bangladesh is via Internet forums. Many BDs seem to be intimidate by Pakistans militery and feel Pak army out for revenge of 71.

Not sure how? Half of BD supports Pakistan in cricket and the other half India, when a match takes places between them. My whole family and extended families all support Pakistan whether it's against India or any other country. (I don't watch any sports or care about them, so don't have any preference).

For my personal perspective, just like the current day Japan and Germany shouldn't be judged based on hitler era, so shouldn't be Pakistan. Unlike Japan and Germany, median age of BD and PK are in their early or mid 20's. Meaning most of the people weren't even alive 47 (?) years ago when the war took place. To have any sort of grudge against those people because of the war is plain ridiculous.

I do judge on their present behaviour though, and I don't find them threatening in any way since we don't share any border and no chances of clash. Pakistanis also doesn't have any interest in being a threat anyway. I am for increasing trade and diplomatic relationship with them precisely because of that. Since none of us are even a remote threat to each other for the very long foreseeable future.

I also support trade and economic and tourism cooperation between two nations. It can benefit the two people.

Main problem in South Asia is its bad politics. I don't think average Bangladeshis hate or love Pakistan. They are busy with their own everyday life.
its the same case here in pakistan.. we are more concerned with our relations(friendly/hostile) with countries like USA, China, Russia, UK, Saudia, Turkey,.. India, etc.. but Bangladesh, i hardly remember talking about bangladesh in any of my friends circles.. its just a country on the map with little or no interest for Pakistani people
