ISLAMABAD: Accusing India of destabilising Pakistan, former military ruler Pervez Musharraf has said nuclear weapons are for the defence of the country and not for "celebratory" occasion.

Musharraf, who ruled from 1999 to 2008, claimed India is carrying an aggressive attitude as a preplanned strategy with the ultimate end game of denuclearizing Pakistan.

"We do not want to use nuclear capability but if our existence comes under threat, who do we have these nuclear weapons for? If I say in Chaudhary Shujaat's style, do we have nukes saved to be used on Shab-e-Baraat?" he told Dunya News.

"Don't attack us, don't challenge our territorial integrity because we are not a small power, we're a major and nuclear power. Don't push us," 71-year-old Musharraf said.

"We should have self-confidence that their (Indian) dream to denuclearise Pakistan is not possible. We won't let their end game materialize," he added.

Pakistan, which owns about 120 nuclear warheads, has the fastest growing nuclear weapons programme in the world and by 2020 it could have enough fissile material to produce more than 200 nuclear devices, experts have said.

India has said it will not hesitate in going beyond its borders to eliminate terrorists, in an apparent warning to Pakistan.

Indian Army this week carried out a surgical strike inside Myanmar, killing scores of Naga insurgents.

Musharraf also asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to respond to threats in his capacity.

why pakistani military and former military personals and polititions always talk about nuclear war?? they seems to be highly afraid of india. for any country those who possess nukes consider it as last sort of weapon. but pakistan consider it as 1st weapons to be used against india. this proves how much pakistani military personals are afraid of india. and in india these comments from pakistan are generally ignored, because every one knows pakistani officials are bluffing. the possession of a nuclear tratical weapons by pakistan will not make any sense, because if Pakistan use battlefield nukes, india is going to burn Pakistan into dust. no one is goining to wait for pakistan to strike larger nukes so india will use its nuclear missiles. smaller or larger, a single nuclear missile cross indo-pak border there will be a firestorm of nuclear missiles into pakistan. atleast india have a missile defense system, which will prevent most of the missiles from hitting the indian mainland what pakistan have?? not even a single missile is going to miss. each and every missile from india is going to hit pakistani cites.

cause when you are convinced that now you are in no postion to fight or harrass your opponent any more as he in time has become too rich and too powerfull for you to even stand up and demand your rights from your opponent :sarcastic:

when in past always got away after you teased and harrassed in past deu to backing of big boys in the game you for caressing your bruised ego try to blackmail your opponent by pointing a gun towards your own head :haha:

As expected by him :sarcastic::sarcastic::woot: the Nuke word i think he should really retire otherwise he will have much more humiliation.

An apt response by the former president of Pakistan to the war mongering indians. Their rabid posturing after that hoax of a stunt they pulled on tiny nation of Myanmar goes to show their sheer level of incompetence & puerility in their decision making.

trying hard to stay relevant? not even people in Pakistan give a damn about this retard. Musharaf should let the Sharifs and Army handle their business. His statements are not required lol

Loll
Why the saffron chaddis getting worried over a statement by a retired General?
Lol pot calling the kettle black. isn't he the same innocent Jarnail who refused to take Pakistani men back , after we put a bullet through their asses , fried them with artillery shells and hung the bastard terrorists with a skewer through their necks while warm blood still leaked through their jugular veins.
sweet!! Who says revenge is the dish best served cold??

It was india that ran out of coffins during Kargil not Pakistan

BBC News | SOUTH ASIA | Coffin scandal rages in India

Its not that the coffins were over prices , it was that india had to import a lot more than 500 coffins and over 3000 bodybags , its own coffin makers could not keep up with the casualties coming down from slopes of mountains

"The Defence Ministry had imported aluminium caskets and body bags from a U.S.-based funeral service company that the Army would require to transport the mortal remains of soldiers from battlegrounds. The suspected officials entered into a contract during 1999-2000 with the said company to import 500 aluminium caskets and 3000 body bags at an exorbitant rate of $ 2,500 (approximately Rs.1.20 lakh) a casket and $ 85 body bag, flouting established procedures of defence procurement. The contract amounted to $ 15, 05,000."

Also note the lies about the Kargil conflict

India imported 3000 body bags , 500 caskets and its own coffin makers had to work overtime to meet the requirements for coffins
