Do anyone know here how much as a percentage of water we gets from rivers flowing from India to Pakistan, as a lower riparian country. Is it 20%, 40%, 60% or more...
To the best of my knowledge a large part of catchment area of Indus river, the main water lifeline of Pakistan is in the GB region of Pakistan and a large part of it is the melted glacial water all in Pakistan, India cannot stop it. Kabul river, Chitral river and many others also add to as tributaries to Indus.
Rivers are not like a pipeline connected to a tap with equal flow throughout till the end, on the contrary a very small 5 feet river in the beginning of its course say in Kashmir region can bloom into a mile wide river as normally Indus river does. Many smaller tributaries keeps on adding to this river.
Yes lower eastern rivers, the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej, allocated do India can be stopped as it is mostly in the plains of Punjab and Haryana....but India cannot do it as dams cannot be constructed on plains as reservoirs.
