The Egyptian army is preparing to own the most powerful Russian T-90 tank, dubbed "Vladimir".
Russia's Oral Vagon Zavod plans to build a tank-assembly company with a Russian T-90S license in Egypt. Egypt will assemble 400 tanks, the most powerful Russian tank in the 21st century.
Specifications of the "T-90" Vladimir tank :
The T-90 tank "Vladimir" is the main Russian fighting tank. The tank was named after its designer, Vladimir Ivanovich Putkin.
From 2001 to 2010, it became the best-selling tank in the world, with the price of the purchase of "T-90" under the contracts of delivery of the Russian armed forces jumping from 70 million rubles, to 118 million rubles after one year only, the equivalent to about 4 million dollars .
The T-90 tank entered service in Russian forces in late 1992, a modification of the Soviet T-72 tank. The design of "Vladimir" began in 1989 under Soviet engineer Vladimir Ivanovich Butkin.
The tank weighs 46.5 tons and is equipped with a 125 mm cannon and a 12-cylinder diesel engine of 1000 hp (optional V-96 engine).
Among the most important weapons of the tank, are the 125-mm main gun capable of firing hollow and high-explosive shells, guided missiles of the anti-tank "Reflex" and "Cobra" types to counter all types of armored vehicles and helicopters.
The tank fire control system outperforms all foreign counterparts; The speed of the tank or target, the temperature of the air, wind speed, air pressure, the angle of the cannon and other factors are calculated before the launch to destroy any target with a single shot.
