Turkish F-16s are all upgraded to CCIP - Block 50+ level. They are equipped with decent AESA radars and AIM-9X & AIM-120D missiles.

Turkey eventhough has a smaller air force can defend easily defend it's air borders against Russian air force that would have to travel a long distance to even get close to Turkey.

then there is also a problem of Russian troops even getting to Turkey, Russia can't sustain a war against a powerful country like Turkey so far from it's borders They would have to dedicated most if not their whole military for the cause
leaving their borders with NATO wide open.

Its nor just Turkey, its the NATO too. Turkey forms the front line of NATO. Russians trolling that today, will be trolling over French and German territories tomorrow. That won't be allowed.

The Russians have about 500 or so top end aircraft. Turkey has much more modern fleet of F-16's and air defense systems, plus backed by NATO jets, plus the distance between the Russian main land and Turkey. If Russia really wants to lose half their top end jets, she should attack the Turks. And yes, Turks might lost 400 of their jets, but they'll be replenished VERY quickly from squadrons of US and others, but the Russians will have to "manufacture" the lost planes, and that too, without having any serious amounts of money!!!!

On reports of 4 SU-30's, the US sent 6 F-15 Eagles. So, if there were 24 or 50 SU-30's or fighter jets, NATO would've responded in kind. I think gossip needs to stay away from the facts.

History repeats itself, the Russians are broke, yet starting another new war.....last time they did that, they went from the USSR to being a Russia. This time, being broke and all....what are they going to be? Republic of Moscow???? or the World will see the doomsday. Neither one makes sense if I was a Russian leader. So the lesson learned is, control your jets, and let them stay 10 miles behind the border. And if a warning is issues, respond to it, apologize and turn back. The way the entire world works.

Turkey has nothing to defend against Russian air launched, ship launched and ground launched cruise missiles.

The command and control centres in Turkey will get comptely destroyed. Su-30, Su-35 fighters will take care of those old F-16s.

Turkey is bringing a knife to a gun fight with Russia. If Russia decides to use full military force, Turkey will be squashed like a bug within a couple of days.

The Turks are setting a precedent now. Any aircraft that cross another country even by 1 inches will get chased down and shot. Is this the new rule of the sky now by our NATO (No Action, Talk Only) organization? LOL

No one's going to war over it. You can mark my words. The jet was documented to be violating Turkey's airspace, there are all the legal proofs and radar tapes, warnings recorded, etc.

The real question is, what were the Russians thinking and why was the jet allowed to troll over Turkey's airspace without Russian GC instructing it to leave? OR, the pilots themselves responding to one of the warnings and letting them know that he made a mistake and he'll go back to Syria? How would Pakistan react if an Indian MKI came inside Pakistan and trolled for 10 minutes? This is almost as if the Russians wanted this to happen. Unlike a country is like Iraq, Afghanistan or Syria, i.e. without a proper air defense system, no country would allow it.

Do you "really" think that the jet was "unidentified"? Do Turkish AD or -16's (all US equipment), FOF systems not recognize the SU-24??? They say it was "unidentified" because the pilots weren't responding on purpose. The idea was to do this today, make the Turks chicken out and not respond, and tomorrow half the squadron would be doing it. No sovereign country would allow that. Its a sad event because the Russians lost a comrade, but I also want to blame the responsibility where it goes. 10 minutes, recorded warnings, and radar plots are recorded and 10 minute is TOO much time to allow an enemy or hostilr aircraft to play inside your airspace.

Russia will probably resort to Arming Kurds, but there won't be a direct military response. TRUST ME. Also, the Russian jets will maintain a 10 mile distance going forward . This was a tough step and it had been pending for a while. But Turks had to take it, they had no choice left. Otherwise, the Russians would troll them from Syria and Iran, both sides and imagine the consequences of that!!

I can't respond to such a childish post. There are just too many "personal opinions" and not facts in your post.

1) When even a 100 innocent citizenss are killed by a Ruler, that government becomes illegible to run the government and loses its legality as it has failed to protect her own citizens. The dictator Assad has killed thousands overtime. Go ask someone who lived in Syria, at the time of conflict.

2) When the Russians react....you let me know !! The last time they "reacted" or "acted" it turned them from the USSR to mother Russia. This time, they might go from Russia to the Republic of Moscow!!
