Visualize Bangladesh in event of escalated regional military complications

I honestly doubt Bangladesh will fight. It will most likely remain neutral to protect its economic hubs etc.War is costly!

If India loses decisively in a war against China, there is nothing India can do against BD if it took a neutral stand vis-a-vis both the warring parties. India's international standing will be very weak if it loses. Moreover, after losing a war India itself will be at the brink of disintegration. It will raise regionalism throughout India. It is specially true in case of NE. Instead of India CRACKING us, we will be cracking India into many pieces, be sure about that.

Another war against BD will only speed up that process. Our nationalists and fanatics will not sit idle in such a situation. Moreover, we will follow the 1971 way of waging war. It will be aguerrilla war against any invading force.

In any such situation, BD will be fully supported by China as well as USA. By the way, what are you going to do against Pakistan army when we keep your forces busy in the eastern front? Do you still think it will be funny?

A completely hypothetical topic to discuss.

Wars do not lead to disintegration. Once E Pak was lost did W Pak disintegrate ? It became stronger. Going to war is the fastest way to unite a nation.

BD cracking India to pieces ? Now this is humorous in the xtreme. Not there will / should be a war between India & China but if there ever were one the 1st thing nations not involved in the war think when there is one in their region is what will the end state be ?

For BD the end state will be that it shall remain surrounded by India as the regions around the IB with India are not disputed between India & China. Hence once peace returns BD shall still have to do business with India .We also need to dispel notions of being able to stoke conditions in NE India which would lead to anything more than pin pricks. Indian agencies maintain the ability to retaliate decisively .. some events recent & not so recent have shown this.

Pls do not misinterpret this as overbearing but its good to think globally but one needs to act locally.

Even now when peace is prevailing in the region, BD population are unwilling to allow a transit route to your NE. So, there is very little possibility that BD will allow any military transport through its land and water when there is a war between China and India. No BD govt will ever allow that, because it will fall and there will be a military coup.

In such a scenerio, India will have to fight against BD army first to get a passage. Now, what is your idea about that scenerio. Fire will engulf you from all sides in such a scenerio. This will be the final chapter for the Union of India.

Your NE region will get independence from your Union after the war. Why do you think that BD will still be surrounded by India? Rather, your NE will become a buffer State between BD and China. Yes, a country becomes united in times of wars. But, NE people do not think they are Indians. History also says that the NE became a part of India only in the late 18th century and it was done by the colonial British govt of the Presidency of Bengal.

Indians brag about their country's bigness and military power. But fail to understand the complex military scenerio that may unfurl in the future in its NE in which BD role will decide the outcome.

i think you should be more worried about the Pak vs Ban t20 world cup match today..
what will happen to bangladesh ambitious t20 campign if Pakistan defeats Bangladesh? :pakistan::partay:

Nothing happens even if BD loses the T20 game against Pakistan. It is sports and in cricket, Pakistan and India, both are much stronger than BD. So, why to worry. But, we are catching up.

First I thought your predicted statement as above has been aroused upon being bothered by silly comments of some member(s) on 'cracking' Bangladesh as if like a piece of nut---should opportunity arrives.

The statement appeared so stark that I needed a closer look. It revealed that quite a large nos. of insurgent groups are operating in NE region (see below the list) which has a porous border with China. Definitely their combined expectation will create a formidable pressure on the mighty military machine of India—while fighting China, in case of any war.

As a 3rd party on-looker, I am given to realize that India should try hardest to avoid any conflict ever with China if they want to keep their Geo-political boundary intact. Or continue to pretend that it will never never happen.

Can they do it only by being machoistic to Pakistan, hegemonic to Bangladesh, Nepal & Bhutan, careless to Srilanka, but very modest to China ? However, will China be fooled by how they behave to China only—overlooking entirely their behavior to other neighbors ?

Will dalits & maoists in relatively inland areas will discard their armed struggle and turn to become an asset to India during the predicted war-period ?

I dont understand why these separatist groups use English Name? Any thought?

First I thought your predicted statement as above has been aroused upon being bothered by silly comments of some member(s) on 'cracking' Bangladesh as if like a piece of nut---should opportunity arrives.

Why dont you hold on to your "melodrama" right there ... and instead go back to the earlier page to see who started all this "crack"ing up stuff dude?

I think you are little wrong about confinement of BD by India. Please check the map. It is NE part of India that is confined by BD. This area is bigger than BD itself. But, India may not be able to hold this land if there is a full-fledged China-India war. Only a direct involvement by BD may save its NE. India cannot operate its supply route to NE in a warlike scenerio without using BD land, water and sky.

A case of hyper-exagerating your role here!?

I think you have made up some naive assumption that NE is like East Pakistan of the past.

Irrespective of what goes on in these forums, if a real war situation arises, IMO India will make use of BD skies, with or without BD consent.

But BD being the good buddies that they are, will oblige, willfully.

A few Bangladeshis on this forum really like to pick a fight with Indians dont they? :-) And this inspite of it being galringly obvious that it was their fellow countrymen who started this talk about cracking and all ... some real short sighted cracks we have got here! :-D

What do you think India is ... East Pakistan ?

And for the bolded part above... being the good History Professor that you are... maybe you can check to find out that the Mukti Bahini guerillas werent being used against the Invading forces but rather were hand-in-glove with the invading force! :flame:

A rebel outfit that wants a big chunk of land to be separated from an already recognized country needs a name that can easily be recognized by the international community. English naming may be more fruitful in this regard. However, when the time is ripe, some of these groups may unite under a single umbrella with a single name in their native language.

It seems your history teacher has taught you that our Mukti Bahini was a kind of collaborator who just sprang up when your Indian Army very kindly entered into our country in December 1971. Live in your gossip paradise forever.

will you guys wake up from your wet dream? Insurgency in NE is limited to Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura now. Assam has been peaceful of late. How many of the groups you listed are even active? Please don't pass wrong information on international forums. Also, the demands of Naga insurgents is to incorporate Naga dominated areas of Manipur into Nagaland. Its no longer a separatist movement. Meghalya? Arunachal? What nonsense?
Anyways, I have always seen an anti India attitude amongst you guys. Why so? Some of you say china is a proven friend? How come ? Despite its support to Burma?
Its just plain obsession. Grow up man.

So according to you Indian support just sprang up at the last minute to take the credit from Mukti bhahini? Can you give me one source which proves your biased and baseless point?
