HAI PHONG, Vietnam, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Vietnam's electric vehicle maker VinFast said on Friday it had shipped its first batch of 999 cars to the United States, capping a five-year bid to develop an auto production hub in the Southeast Asian country for markets in North America and Europe.

Not in the near future that's for sure..as most people will probably see how well the reliability goes with first adopters before dropping $40K+ on some car brand they never heard of.

The US market is harsh. Pretty much every European car company (other than the premiums and VW) has been pushed out due to non-acceptance over reliability.

Is Vinfast V8 or V9 similar in performance to Tesla Y or Tesla 3? No..

As for quality, which Tesla are not well known. So I think Tesla the most on par with vinfast.

I feel vinfast strategy sounds wrong. They take a Tesla as benchmark and try to price it a bit lower than Tesla model 3. I don't think the little saving of a Tesla 3 is gonna make them swap for vinfast.

Did you ever drive a Tesla? I told here recently I did test drive Tesla Y. I can tell you Tesla quality is ways lower than any Germany made cars VW, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche. Vinfast imports all car manufacturing from Germany. I have Audi when seating in the Tesla I feel like going back in 10 years. Tesla is overpriced, that’s a chance for competitors.

I have drive a Tesla 3. It's performance is like a sport car. Very aggressive and responsive. There is more than just quality for a car. The handling and performance are equally important. I do not know how vinfast performance will match up to Tesla.

I saw the review of vinfast car and they do away with the front dash board. Tesla 3 do not have one and I don't know why vinfast follow Tesla 3 mistake.
