1. The kilos you are getting in 6 years are already inferior to the Yuans China introduced 7 years ago. Going by precedence China will have another new class superior to the Qing class in 7 years when Vietnam is taking delivery of its 2nd or 3rd Kilo. By that time Vietnam will have a sub 2 full generations behind what China has.

2. Chinese warships have full compliments of nose, and Towed array sonar along with KA 31, and Z 8 ASW helicopters. All of them are capable of launching rocket propelled torpedos up to 50 kms away. They are also escorted by SSKs, and SSNs. A few Vietnamese kilos without any surface support would be massacred.

3. The Gepards you have do not have a helicopter bay. Its 1,500 ton displacement also means it carries a tiny sonar nose. It also does not have a towed array radar. A song class SSK of the PLA popped up next to a 100,000 ton aircraft carrier with dozens of AEW helicopters with Burke class destroyers and you expect a corvette to do what they couldn't with a sub thats 2 generations ahead? Your wet dreams are astounding.

4. A Gepard class with its tiny sonar and lack of helicpoter AEW would have a hard time fighting a ming class SSK

1. Hehe, Our Kilo is more advantage with your at least 10 years, I sent link already, so don't compare your old Kilo with us, we have enough money to buy the good one :P

2.Our Kilo can shoot from 290 km bro , your warship is a dead meat :P
irst, Vietnam's Kilo submarines will be fitted with land attack cruise missile 3M-14E latest type, with a range of 290 km.
DEFENSE STUDIES: Vietnam Kilo 636 Submarine Technology More Advanced Than China Kilo 636 ?

3.Wrong again we have helicopter bay for K-28, this K-28 is better than your old K-28 coz she can have full communication with Gepard, she can detect Mr.Qing in the range of 12km

Well, they can use Mig-21 to shoot down J-20, then i am sure few Vietnamese fast attack boats can sink a 100,000+ tons CVN among with its escort ships.

the reason is that they consider India is a strong country, could contribute much on countering China, so they r doing everything to have ur country involved in the border dispute issue... ur country is free to follow its will... i personally welcome India involved in with its military...

did u forgot how USA solve their border dispute? r u blind to see even between SK and Japan, there r also border dispute issue between them...

I don't think that Vietnam is egging India on.

India's problems with China is India's problems and not Vietnam's.

I presume since the Indian Navy has war experience and Soviet origin naval crafts, it will be easier for Vietnam, who are going in a big way to buy Russian equipment.

It must also not be forgotten that Russia has still interest in Vietnam and Russia is trying to return to its superpower status.

US solved whose border dispute?

SK and Japan may have difference, but when there is a common enemy, even those with disputes, sink their disputes and join hands to fight it out with the enemy.

No, I am not blind. It is just that when I perceive international activities, emotions and jingoism does not overpower me. That to some, may appear to be being blind.

Hehe, North Korea can sink S.Korea warship with a single shoot, so we VN will not worse than North Korean brother :p:

1. Your kilo that comes in 2017 should be more advanced then kilos that have been in China since 1997. The fact that is is only 10 years more advanced compared to the 20 year old subs is something you should lament, not brag about.

2. Our Qings can fire 1,500 Km supersonic nuclear cruise missiles. Totally overkill compared to that subsonic missile you have.

3.

This is a rear shot of a Vietnamese Gepard 3.9. It does not have a hangar. please do not blatantly lie. You'll lose more of that non-existent credibility you never had.

Everyone apparently thinks Vietnam is part of China.

No, if one goes by the threads, it did appear that every Chinese thought Vietnam was a part of China!

Remember all the stuff on Chams and how North Vietnamese were actually the same as the Chinese bordering Vietnam and all that?

Not our fault when even the Vietnamese post their stuff in the Chinese section. Especially the Vietnamese.

Considering that Vietnam has always been a protectorate nation of China, it is not surprising :azn:

What amazes me is that some of our Vietnam friends actually think this will change anything. Well let me break it down like this:

1. The subs will come in 2017. China has come a long way on subs, with one of the most advanced submarine fleets in the world. We have operated diesel, nuclear attack, nuclear strategic subs since the 70s, as well as the Kilo class subs. Basically we know subs and we know the undersea maps of the South China Sea like our back yard.

2. China's submarine fleet regularly drills in the anti-sub exercises. This has been going on for many decades. The Chinese navy is no stranger in anti-sub operations.

3. Get real. The Kilo class is not that advanced anyway. Why do you think China has stopped purchasing it? It is not like the Russians don't want to sell. China can build better subs.

4. To train an adequate crew, and to build the infrastructure to operate a submarine fleet is a long long process that takes up to a decade at least. This means the 6 Kilo class subs for Vietnam, that has NEVER operated a submarine fleet, will not pose any threat until 2027....

So consider the above points. Is China worried, I don't think so, unless the Chinese military is retarded.

1. What ever your sub can fire, our Gepard will track Mr.Qing and Mr. Yuan down :p:

2. wrong bro, we officaly send all information to internet already
ngoài ra còn trang bị một trực thăng và một hệ thống chống tàu ngầm RBU-600

Gepard have Sub detect helicopter K-28

This is an old 2007 article which speaks well of Chinese submarine capabilities:
The uninvited guest: Chinese sub pops up in middle of U.S. Navy exercise, leaving military chiefs red-faced | Mail Online

When the U.S. Navy deploys a battle fleet on exercises, it takes the security of its aircraft carriers very seriously indeed.
At least a dozen warships provide a physical guard while the technical wizardry of the world's only military superpower offers an invisible shield to detect and deter any intruders.
That is the theory. Or, rather, was the theory.

Uninvited guest: A Chinese Song Class submarine, like the one that sufaced by the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk
American military chiefs have been left dumbstruck by an undetected Chinese submarine popping up at the heart of a recent Pacific exercise and close to the vast U.S.S. Kitty Hawk - a 1,000ft supercarrier with 4,500 personnel on board.
By the time it surfaced the 160ft Song Class diesel-electric attack submarine is understood to have sailed within viable range for launching torpedoes or missiles at the carrier.
According to senior Nato officials the incident caused consternation in the U.S. Navy.
The Americans had no idea China's fast-growing submarine fleet had reached such a level of sophistication, or that it posed such a threat.
One Nato figure said the effect was "as big a shock as the Russians launching Sputnik" - a reference to the Soviet Union's first orbiting satellite in 1957 which marked the start of the space age.
The incident, which took place in the ocean between southern Japan and Taiwan, is a major embarrassment for the Pentagon.

Battle stations: The Kitty Hawk carries 4,500 personnel
The lone Chinese vessel slipped past at least a dozen other American warships which were supposed to protect the carrier from hostile aircraft or submarines.
And the rest of the costly defensive screen, which usually includes at least two U.S. submarines, was also apparently unable to detect it.
According to the Nato source, the encounter has forced a serious re-think of American and Nato naval strategy as commanders reconsider the level of threat from potentially hostile Chinese submarines.
It also led to tense diplomatic exchanges, with shaken American diplomats demanding to know why the submarine was "shadowing" the U.S. fleet while Beijing pleaded ignorance and dismissed the affair as coincidence.
Analysts believe Beijing was sending a message to America and the West demonstrating its rapidly-growing military capability to threaten foreign powers which try to interfere in its "backyard".
The People's Liberation Army Navy's submarine fleet includes at least two nuclear-missile launching vessels.
Its 13 Song Class submarines are extremely quiet and difficult to detect when running on electric motors.
Commodore Stephen Saunders, editor of Jane's Fighting Ships, and a former Royal Navy anti-submarine specialist, said the U.S. had paid relatively little attention to this form of warfare since the end of the Cold War.
He said: "It was certainly a wake-up call for the Americans.
"It would tie in with what we see the Chinese trying to do, which appears to be to deter the Americans from interfering or operating in their backyard, particularly in relation to Taiwan."
In January China carried a successful missile test, shooting down a satellite in orbit for the first time.

1. With a tiny sonar and lack of any on board helicopter it won't even find a ming class SSK if it was right below it.

2. That is called lying. Pictures of the Vietnamese Gepards show very plainly that it does not have a hanger.

3. Yes however not a single Vietnamese vessel is capable of holding a KA 28 for any period of time.
