US nears $100 billion arms deal for Saudi Arabia

.
Actually the Lsc are a mix of corvette and frigate that's why they called multi mission combat ship
Actually, no. Its a new class of (relatively) small, multipurpose warships to operate in the littoral zone. That's why its called LCS. The LCS classes 'as is' are both 3000-3500 tons full load. That's small in comparison to an Arleigh burke ore a Ticonderoga. And that's why the uparmed variant is Small Surface Combatant (SSC). SSC will focus in SUW and ASW with these additions, as well as retaining all other features of their mission packages; the SSC is not required to perform MCM which will continue to be handled by the LCS. MMCS (which is another beefed up LCS, lacking some of the mission flexibility of the US ships though) is called a 'frigate-like ship'.

The last small ship (corvette) produced by US for export was Saar-5, for Israel.

Okay

I hate Labour party but I am going to vote for them in the U.K election as they want to stop weapons sale to Saudi Arabia. White supremacists Trump hates muslims but loves giving weapons to the Saudis. No surprises there.

.
Scratching it as it is , Israel and the Senate won't allow f35 sale

Israel first, then the senate? lol. There is some truth to that. Saudi Arabia has a bargaining position, being potentially the largest US military equipment buyer, they should be able to negotiate a deal to include the F-35, considering they'll be paying an unprecedented $300 billion for this arms deal by the time it's done. Paying cash for all this military equipment is worth quite a bit more than what the US aid to Israel and Egypt and several others combined military aid programs are costing the US tax payers. Paid out aid that revolves into the US economy still costs the US. Sooner or later it's bound to make an exception that overrides Israel's objections, again.

Israel objected to the F-15, that didn't work. I don't see why the Saudis can't effectively negotiate for the F-35 with this mammoth deal, either.

. . .
This is a bit exagerated, Obama had proposed a deal worth $100 billion, but it did not go through, Trump has a deal of about $20 billion for KSA and $30 billion for the rest of the GCC..
It is important to note that any deal with KSA will have to include ToT.. So if the US is willing to do that now, KSA might want/be motivated to get much bigger deals..
The bigger the deal the more pressure for the F-35.. at least a few Squadrons, 2 or 3 (24 to 36 for KSA or 24 for KSA and 12 for the UAE).. Usrael might oppose it but the numbers will satisfy the US congress..

What are you talking about ? This $100 billion is just for saudi arabia for the next 10 years

Every state has the right to invest in its security.

Saudi have a long history of sourcing weapons from the US with reasonable logistics support for such stuff at home.

ToT matters are complicated and not always on the cards, specially for the newer stuff. Nothing is convenient in the matters of defense unless you have a domestic industry on the level of US for it.

That is really shortsighted.

State-to-state relations are not driven by emotions but mutual interests.

China - our all weather friend - is systematically oppressing muslims in its homeland province of Xinjiang but not a single statement of condemnation for it.

US-Saudi relations have a soothing effect on friction between the WEST and Muslims from time-to-time.

Unfortunately, some forces are working to sow discord between the WEST and Muslims so that the two sides remain embroiled in a constant state of conflict and some private enterprises profit from it. Do not facilitate such forces.
Chinese Muslim live a better life with better education, why say so
An outsider always like judge others, funny

KSA can buy whatever they like with their money

@MastanKhan ....Can you guess what Saudis are up to? :)

So, Pakistan not only joining the alliance but also taking leadership of it may prove good decision in near future....:agree:
