US emerging as 'food-stamp country'

Yes, megabucks.

I can never understand how the US costs things. Apparently it costs them $250,000 to keep one soldier in Afghanistan for one year.

here is a cost analysis for you

http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL33110.pdf

"With enactment of the sixth FY2011 Continuing Resolution through March 18, 2011, (H.J.Res.
48/P.L. 112-6) Congress has approved a total of $1.283 trillion for military operations, base security,
reconstruction, foreign aid, embassy costs, and veterans’ health care for the three operations initiated
since the 9/11 attacks: Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) Afghanistan and other counter terror
operations; Operation Noble Eagle (ONE), providing enhanced security at military bases; and
Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). This estimate assumes that the current CR level continues through the
rest of the year and that agencies allocate reductions proportionately."

Food stamps are not ration cards. It is a governemnt stipend intended for people with low incomes to supplement thier food costs. in most states now the recipient recieves a debit card that they use at a supermarket to buy food. One problem however is the program is notorious for being abused by people who don't need it.

there are billions of people around the world. That would love to be able to have access to such a program. Including many Pakistani's I would wager.

American economy is creating jobs in high tech sector fast but the problem is they are having tough time finding people that are qualified as most unemployed are people with low or no skills the ones that used to be able to get jobs in previous economy since most of those jobs have left unless people are going to get retrained or they will be left behind.

You're right, it must be my ignorance, Pakistan is doing 10 times better than the US, the US has rampant inflation, rolling brownouts with their power, rampant gov't recklessness and corruption, an out of control child sex trafficking situation, multiple terrorists organizations killing their citizens, and a serious inferiority complex. You make the statement that I think what is going to happen to Israel in the future? Look at where you already are today! I guess that would explain why you left your country in the first place.

Strange i though the reason why our most vocal keyboard jihadists were all in the UK not Jawans in the Pakistan army was

It is unbecoming of a great nation like Pakistan to be celebrating the decline of other countries. Let's just try to fix our own mess, brothers.

God Bless Pakistan and yes may God Bless America too.

Yes, I agree with some of what you say.

Most of the Americans I met were decent people, and I do not wish them any harm. It's just if they had a little less resources they wouldn't go around bombing people, particularly muslims. We are all happier with a US that stays at home and tries to make the life of its own people better.

And by the way, we are not a great nation.

This is what Osama and the talebans in the lat ten years have reduced America to. But if you listened to american propaganda they are winning the war

Yes. A major reason for this is the cost of America's military adventures.

Iraq, Afghanistan and the general increase in defence expenditure due to the wot.[/QUOTE]

Isnt this what osama was trying to do to them hense the attack on twin towers as a sign of western capitalism

Yes, thats interesting.

In vietnam, the Americans claim that they never lost a single battle, but definitely lost the war.

In this war they may kill and capture the enemy, but the financial cost might finish them.
