The fact that the police didn't even want to register the case and that most cases in rural and village areas go unreported anyway worries me greatly. We take great pride in having less rape than India and the US (because this is something to be proud of) but if every case was reported and registered I'd say we'd see the same image as these countries do.

Pakistan and India are not even close to transparency levels of the US in the matters of reporting all forms of crimes.

Additionally, American rape statistics feature false-positives (and attempts) so we receive inflated figures.
