UAE and France sign deal for 80 Rafale fighter jets

UAE, Israel to develop unmanned military, commercial vessels
Emirati and Israeli state-owned weapons makers sign a deal to jointly design vessels on the final day of the Dubai Airshow.

CEO of EDGE Group: The UAE is no longer only a buyer
Whether it was the F-35 or another platform, EDGE will get involved in various platforms from a supply chain, sub system, or MRO point of views, CEO says.

Edge Group’s CEO talks drone swarms, 3D printing and export plans

Edge is only 2 years old, but its CEO, Faisal Al Bannai, says the business as achieved several milestones, including in autonomous technology, electronic warfare and smart weapons. But one of the most critical is its share of the United Arab Emirates’ export market on both a regional and global level.

The Rash 2 munition is [made using] 3D-printed [technology]. We are looking at every aspect now of our platforms and missiles to see how to bring 3D printing to them. Next year, there will be a number of products for which we are trying to push the envelope when it comes to 3D printing. So in 2022 and 2023, you will see a number of products 3D printed.

A body frame of a UAV is relatively easy, and this is what we are looking at developing to be 3D printed, but a missile goes through a different heat arrangement. Early success in this development is represented by kits like Rash — body frames for items that are not going through extreme [temperatures]. I think parts and components could be the entry point. We are experimenting with all of this.
still not effective against missiles

Is it true that Rafale F4 is still underdevelopment and the program will be completed in 2024 ?
Yes.
F4 standard contract was inked in january 2019. There will be 2 sub standards :
F4.1 for birds built before the F3R. End of R&D phase in 2023.
F4.2 for F3R birds (ie Indian and Qatar ones) with some frame modifications... (for stealth reason, and to add some new hardware (lateral radar antennas?) )? End work in 2024.

And as always with Dassault : on time, on spec, on budget. So the 2023 and 2024 dead lines will be reached.
All the Franco-Indian Rafale corruption news is in fact coming out of France not India.
It always come from a full left wing tabloid.... Owned by an islamist supporter....
Full left but the owner is a millionaire...
So full left shit.

The new acquisition is intended to replace Mirage 2000 squadron. Rafale will start coming in 2027. Rafale F4 is still underdevelopment.
They are planning to make Yemen their satellite state, expanding their AF. Already Mirage2000 squadron deployed and operational under Saudi alliance. Seems F35 deal is dissolved.

Exactly.. Meaning F35 is coming and I saw recent article it was approved

After the great interest it received and amid the contracts that it began to bring, the last of which was the huge Emirati contract, Dassault Aviation decided to increase the production rate of the Rafale fighter jets to two fighters per month instead of one combat plane, and then it will rise to 3 per month..

If you remember back in IDEX 2021, Tawazun and MBDA signed an agreement for the joint development of the Smartglider.

Also, local company Halcon is developing an air to air missile and want to test it by 2025. It could be used on the aircraft instead of the Meteor.

“Next year, we are looking into propelled air-to-ground weapons,” he says. “By 2024 we hope to demonstrate a ground-to-air capability and by 2025 air-to-air. We are putting into place building blocks that will take us there.”

That is impressive if they could develope something superior to Meteor with even longer range

Obviously one must increase production if there is need and demand for it

The deal include $2 billion in weapons and ammunition..

A bit expensive for the weapons and ammo part
A MICA is in the 1 million€ range. A Meteor in the 2 million € range.
2 billions => 2000 MICA for exemple.

Remember the Taiwanese M2000-5 deal : 960 MICA + 480 MAGIC 2 for 60 birds. It's not sci fi the UAE deal.

And there are also some SCALP in the 2 billions.
