Israel foes are currently slaughtering each other in Syria including Hezbollah , any attack on Hezbollah in the meantime by Israel would threat Assad survival against even worse hardcore Islamists groups in Syria , currently both Islamists and Assad are doing the dirty work of destroying Syrian infastructure and splitting it into sectarian enclaves.
Its in israel best interests to keep fuelling the Syrian conflict for as long as possible as its destroying Syria's army , economy , infastructure and already caused a defacto partition hence Syria is now out of game for a few decades if it evers wakes up again from its coffin .
Israel today has the Iron Dome and many other similar air-defence systems to deal with Rockets and artelleries in addition to the future use of lethal force to eliminate rocket launching sites would be sufficient for it to go in and annex extra territory in the future.
with conservative hard-core zionists parties now taking over Israel political scene whom are willing to take some extra losses in return for annexing extra land they will no longer face any obstacle especially that Syria is now out of the game to act as a bridge for weapons supply , in any future conflict if the fragile syrian regime takes any role it will only be a good reason for the israelis to annex lands from Syria itself.
