• TF-X prototypes will fly with off the shelf turbofan engines.
• TRMotor institute will be the center of Turkish engine intelligence collected from other Turkish institutes and Indigenous turbofan engine program have been commenced from scratch.
• TF-X domestic engine program is open to international cooperation but Main contractor will be Turkish institutes. RR&Kale JV keen on participating in this program. Negotiations are proceeding.
• Various countries want to be "partner" in TF-X project. We are evaluating them to convert the program into multi-national system.

Italians expressed interest to provide AESA technology, I hope by partner countries he does not mean countries providing critical technology. We need to have full control of critical technology so that we are the only ones who know the fully capability of our platform.

My reply was to a poster who suggested a collaboration between Turkey, Russia and Iran for TF-X.

My advice is for Turkey to go it alone with engine tech from Rolls Royce and design and systems integration advice from BAe.

Pentagon wants the project gone have no doubt about it. There are other factors that prevent Pentagon from exercising that option. If only Pentagon could always have its way Erdogan wouldn't be alive today. Even super powers have limitations and Turkey knows it.

It seems US want you to cancel Su-35 deal. If not, they openly threaten Indonesia with sanctions like they do to Turkey cause of S-400 deal. Recent days, Indonesian officials officially announced that Indonesia will certainly take delivery of Su-35 aircrafts. I didn’t know US has an agenda like that for Indonesia. Politic tension and likely sanctions will certainly put KF-X/IF-X program jeopardy since US directly involves into Korean aircraft with most sensetive, export controlled technologies. I don’t suppose US will let S.Korea to deliver those technologies for Indonesia while they are thrratening you with sanctions. Do you have any further info?

You are right, there is a fear among Indonesian officials that we could become a victim of US sanction in KFX/IFX project, thats why there is a thinking to abandon the project all together to avoid such risk. According to Indonesian officials, geopolitics matter between US and Russia is one of the reasons of why Indonesia think about leaving the program. But the thinking is over now and they have decided to continue the program and start renegotiation process on last Friday. The matters that will be discusses in renegotiation process is marketing, technology transfer, finance, intellectual property, and production cost.

Talking about SU 35, I see that Indonesian government is still not sure whether they should proceed with SU 35 acquisition or not. The meeting last Friday also discussed about SU 35, but the announcement is only talking about KFX/IFX so it means they dont decide any thing about SU 35. And there must be "a reason" of why two subjects are discussed together.

Can you give me the link of original indonesian article ? The men in charge with KFX and Su 35 right now is Wiranto which said nothing about SU 35 acquisition on Friday meeting (the meeting discussed both KFX and Su 35). He also said, previously, he doesnt want Indonesia to get US sanction due to SU 35 procurement.
