Turkiye will totally change the rules of game in region: TF-X MMU Stealth Fighter

@dBSPL "certain guarantees"

We are a partner of F35 project , make many parts but it is not guarantee to get them because of recent political situation, no one can guarantee those engines

TFX Subcontracted Systems and Equipment for local institutes have been introduced by Turkish Aerospace Industry.

I am almost sure that TF-X will use F110-GE-129 engines which has a thrust of 290000lbf. That is a perfect thrust rate which is satisfying the requirements of Turkish Air Force (27000+lbf).

Hürjet-C fighter: GE F404 (17000lbf)
TF-X fighter: GE F110(29000lbf)

If GE F110 is the engine for prototype, then TF-X will be a "heavy" fighter like F-22 and so the thrust of whatever final engine is installed will be in the range of 35-40,000 lbs. This would rule out a derivate of Roll Royce's EJ-2000 engine as that is an engine designed for "medium" size fighters.

F-22
Length: 18,9m
Wingspan: 13,56m

TF-X
Length: 19m
Wingspan: 12m

In terms of size, TF-X is almost equal to F-22.

The national engine that is being developed by TrMotor will have a thrust around ~27000lbf. At the beginning of program, It was envisaged that The total thrust rate must be above 40000lbf on twin engine variant If we want to reveal a competitive air superiority fighter compared to rivals because total take-off weight is calculated to be more than 60000lb (F-35A class) on concept design phase. You know Power to Weight is an important issue to calculate useful payload capacity without sacrificing much from performance. Selection of F110-GE-129 will satisfy all performance requirements of TurAF on both prototypes and some of serially produced fighters (If needed) until national turbofan engines are brought to scene by 2028/30's. RR will likely be a partner of national engine development program to supply needed know-how to develop an excellent engine whose I&P rights solely belong to Turkish Republic.

Just a brain gym,

TF-X (2,62-2,53kw/ton): GE129; 29000lbf x2: 58000lbf(78,63kw) on more than 65000lb-70000lb(~30-31t) MTOW

F-22(2,51kw/ton): F119PW100; 35000lbf x2: 70000lbf(94,9kw) on 83500lb(37,8t) MTOW

F-15K(2,14kw/ton): GE129;29000lbf x2: 58000lbf(78,63kw) on 81000lb(36,7t) MTOW

Pak-Fa(2,38kw/ton): Al-41F 32500lbf x2: 65000lbf(88,12kw) on 81500lb(37t) MTOW

J-20 ( 2,92-2,71kw/ton):Ws-15 40000lbf x2: 80000lbf (108,4kw) on 37-40t MTOW.

According to those figures, TF-X will be one of the strongest air superiority stealth fighter which will be in same league with most capable rivals. TF-X design office made a sharp maneouvring with selecting F110 family to play the top. If Ej-200 was selected, It will be a moderate fighter but It seems the dimension of national turbofan engine will be very similar to that F110-129 so Decision is given to make TF-X a real beast not only on paper but also on air.

GE F110 axisymmetric vectoring in the early 1990.

I still can't believe Turkey selected GE F110 engine.. It's overkill imo.. however on the bright side, Im certain Turkey has tons of spare parts and know-how on the GE F110 engine since Turkey license assembles the engines.

China, Russia, Britain, Germany, France, America are the only 6 countries that build fighter jets with 100% domestic components. These 6 countries are the 6 super powers in the world. Rest countries can't build jet engine for fighter jets.

not Germany
but the US,The UK,Russia,China,France built Fighter Jets with 100% domestic components
btw Russia/Ukraine/France helped China to develop Gas turbine Engine ( Turbofan and Turboshaft )
and Chinese and Russian electro-optic Systems are inferior to Western Countries including Turkey

no one of them build everything by themselves and 100%.. maybe some of them are forced to do more work on their own but others realized itds idiotic and costs too much to make it 100% alone so they split the costs when it comes to such projects..

They can if they want. These 6 countries have the best military technology in the world.

not Germany

Germany has Eurojet EJ200. France has SNECMA M88. Both are world class jet engines.

but they dont because of certain reasons you dont have to but you should aquire such technology its a matter of time and recources its faster to cooperate with others

What part of Eurofighter Typhoon and Dassault Rafale is not European? Can you name?
