Turkish forces captured wide variant of US made guns, weapons from PKK terrorists. Weapons sent to YPG for ISIS ended up in their hands. How? Simple... They are the same. They did and will use them against Turkish army again. There is no way they can control those weapons.

You can buy handguns anywhere. They are not a problem at all. Even China produces M16 clones.

Problem is ATGM and especially MANPADS.

Syria has 16 million Sunni Arabs and nearly 1 million Turkic people who are very friendly to Turkey. If u game them weapons in 2011-2012-2013 they would fight themselves. And there would not be neither ISIS nor SDF.

But Erdogan did NOTHING and watched still how Assad slaughters them with barrel bombs.

Then Erdogan watched still in 2014 when ISIS with Assad air support destroyed these rebels and did NOTHING.

Then Erdogan did nothing when US and Russia came in in 2015 (Russia slaughtered rebels while US with Kurdish help captured wast areas). No actually u helped Kurds and SDF.

And only in second half of 2016 Erdogan saw that SDF approaches Afrin and decided to intervene (begging Russian permission).

Bottom line: if Erdogan gave weapons to Syrian rebels they would control now all Northern Syria. But instead now u have huge SDF under US + Iran/Russia Assad + 4 million refugees. I am not talking about the humanitarian catastrophe and biggest slaughter of Muslims in history.

And lets not forget the major point:

1) US never refused to sell Patriots, although they did refuse technological transfer.
2) Israel and Europeans offered technological transfer as well but Erdogan still chose the S-400.


Arrow-2 has max altitude 50 km, Arrow-3 - over 100 km. S-400 - 30 km.
S-400 PESA radar is not even close to AESA radar of Arrow (which can truck even satellites).

Technically, these are Soviet, not Russian.

Kornet is Russian, not Soviet.
