Turkish Peace Operations in Syria (Operation Olive Branch) Updates & Discussions

Have turkish govt/rmy proposed a timeline for taking over Afrin yet? What does our Turkish brothers think, who have been following the campaign closely

Before the operation has startted i have read 70 days, but it might meant for one of the stages of the campain. My guess is 4th stage siege of afrin.

Americans refuse they offered safe zone to Turkey.

A joke is sometimes a way to unconsciously express a fantasy... a statement..a wish.
Expressing as a joke...Is a way to not "feel" and "Deal" with the consequences of such "thinking"... whatever by antagonist "inside" feelings or by "outside" critics from others...

3 Terrorist Aliens from Alpha Centauri shot dead in Ankara while trying to infiltrate to Parliament.

3 of them? How did they even get past the energy shields? We need to purchase that S-9000 ultra plasma shields from Russia, as soon as possible.

Can someone explain the turkish strategy for this battle ?

Many villages are captured/recaptured like the ping pong near Al Bab. Why there is so many shorts front which aren't pushed deeper ?

From listening to Mete Yarar (defence analyst with field experience) opting to go via Afrin valley would be dangerous as it is a Atgm ingested zone, so we have started in with smaller units in pockets in the mountains which are 800 meters plus and bad wheather conditions, hence slow operation.

As for Al Bab, US let IS shift some of its fierces IS foreign fighters there and less then 1000 Turkish troops involved with some 3000 untrained FSA, 3000 IS members killed, this op was a success with minimal TR casualties, however you call it “ping pong”, Turkey did not transport IS members from Al Bab like US and Kurds did to Syrian zones.

Of course you need to capture the mountains first, but why not quickly pushing through the northern area and capture the highest mountains of Afrin's region ? Bubul should be captured already, as well as the top north-west corner.

And why turkish army don't use its aircraft for direct fire support ? They only use their f-16 fleet for hitting "targets" then go back to their bases while FSA and their own troops need support.

So yeah I wonder when the real push will begin or even if it will begin...

Its rather interesting in how the US is handeling the Turkish presence in Afrin. They are trying to pursue Turkey in creating safe zones together at the Turkish/Syrian border (according to more and more sources). So maybe we are close to achieving our objectives being to clear Afrin from YPG, and to create safe zones in Northern Syria. The attack on Afrin seems to be a really good move to show the US that we are serious and that they better start working together with us.

I dont think US would ever make YPG leave those "safe zone". Their idea is probably to symbolically let some Turkish soldiers into the bases they built in ypg controlled areas. Their is no way they can tell YPG to get out of Tel Abyad, Kobani etc.
