Turkish Peace Operations in Syria (Operation Olive Branch) Updates & Discussions

@Exxxe I totally agree but I do not think it will be a total move across the border as a whole. I think our military will do the same thing like they did at the past 2 years. I think they will take some strategic points one by one and smoothly and slowly expand.

. .
You guys realize that the US isn't totally against Turkey's potential intervention in Northern Syria, right? From the US perspective, the best outcome of all scenarios would be Turkey seizing Arab-majority regions and weakening SDF without actually destroying the organisation; in fact this would make them even more dependent on America.
Washington isn't dumb, never was, never will be. They know that in the long term there is no realistic option of Arabs accepting a Socialist PKK rule.
The US is trying to figure out how they can achieve this without looking like they just have betrayed SDF. This is why the US still doesn't threatened us publicly and explicitly.

. .
Still no major action although Erdogan said operations would start in two days.

I knew you post this in a couple days YPG sympathiser scum but he said "bir kac gune" meaning in a few days, you need to work on your Turkish.

Current build up is not enough for a large scale operation according to a military source.

Dont worry when the Turkish army says is it coming it comes, the build up has been happening for months plus TSK doesn't need huge numbers against PKK scum.

Sen fistanlarini hazirla Turk tankinin altina yatma zamani geldi hevalno ucuncu round basliyorrrr.

And what if half of that is true?
What if the US already made the choice,Türkiye out SDF/YPG in?
The US has already one big and three smaller Airbases on YPG territory,no need for incirlik anymore.
Washington isnt dumb, right about that but Arabs never accepted Israel(YPG) either, look at them now.

What is better. A Deal to maintain her Airbases in East Syria under/With a Partner/Ally that will mean keeping it in the long term or Airbases under a Militia with unknown fate and Shady Past/Allies?
YPG is only a short alternative for the US to have a presence, She had no real choice back then/no excuses TILL ISIS and their rival (YPG) at that time.

If TR back in those days when ISIS was losing ground in East Syria , Choose to "Help with ground forces" then right now, they wouldn't be any problem, TR will manage East and North Syria, with Allies help and all this YPG mess wouldn't be on the news.
But anyway, better late than never.

I also believe US prefer TR than a militia...But right now, they can't openly "say" it and lose the Face with their current partner AND with their MPs/senator at home.
So, she's faking that "Weak" opposition.

It's not the first Time the US wished it, In North Cyprus back in the days, She was among the only one to "Encourage/Close their eyes" to TR OP on the international maiden.

That's the smartest move that is the move it's all about stages

But the sdf/ypg/PKK will go all out unless there is a background deal between turkey and the US not to mention the rockets and drones that will be fired into border territories its proven pkk will hit civilians

God help Turkey and all the best good luck

.
I wonder if macron still insist on supporting YPG, since many leftist in the YPG made public support for gillet jaunes

:disagree:

They want a Kurdish (puppet) state.
Actually Euphrates shield OP destroyed any Hope's for that long ago

And olive branch only added salt to the injury ( having a puppet state is impossible now and that without russia in the mix but it is as well )

The real reason behind this op is even tho there is no puppet state there would still be terror

Whether drugs smuggled into turkey or terrorist attacks / explosives against border troops and towns or just harassment fire

All im addition that any links between turkey and the middle east ( gulf )are dictated by Kurds ( iraq north and now Syria) so whatever trade or oil its gonna be a challenge

Look at what's happening to Kirkuk oil how long till turkey restored it ( and it only happened bcs us sanctioned iran )

What if Turkey gives the US guarantees that their bases won't be touched by anyone? Protecting those facilities isn't a very difficult task by the way. Just think about our bases in Northern Iraq which are located in an absolutely hostile environment.
In addition, no base in Syria is comparable to Incirlik. The US won't ever abandon Incirlik, never. It's more important than all of the US bases in Syria put together.

Up until now, the US hasn't made any choice. It seems like they are still measuring pros and cons.
