Adik has the advantages in too many ways;
-Cooperation with universities and design offices, what is SSM looking for sharing the fund of project with subcontractors,
-Local cooperation, design is developed by local contribution unlike Ares or RMK,
-Stealth design and similarities (mast tower, RCS) with Milgem, fame of design office (STM) in Milgem project,
-Best offered compact design with embedded missile/torpedo/decoy tubes,
-Except one competetor in strong league (except the selah and dearsan and Yonca Onuk JV in my opinion ), all other works with foreigner partners which is an advantage for adik coming with this design,
-Fame of Adik in deliveries of projects, good performance in Dimdeg project evaluation,
-Company which supports the R&D in universities as most contribution,
Disadvantages;
-Shipyard specialized in support class ship,
-SSM may tend to create a new manufacurer,
-Planning hull design which will change the balance condition by speed (somehow advantage for high speed but, causes in slammings in high sea states)
In many ways Adik's design has more chance.
Adik just didnt make fancy renders like others, in their mockup model it looks quite austhetic .
-------------------------------------
Ares advantages;
-Comes with a good hul form design, and specialized bulbous bow for high speed designed with patent of Rolls-Royce.
-Good seakeeping, durability and comfort for high sea states.
-Easiness for replenishment ,specially Anti-ship missiles to be replaced fastly and reloaded in dock fastly , this is what Navy looking for in task definition of FAC , unloading the weapons on a target and replenished quick as possible and taking place in action.
-High survability unlike planning hulls for underwater damages (in high speeds submerged volume doesnt change a lot) balance isnt depended on speed,
-Low cross section application on mast tower in a different way than milgem ,may lead to a different perspective.
Disadvantages;
- Shipyard specialized in commercial/private yachts ,no experience in military vessels for large scale
- Lack of cooperation with local sources, lack of subcontractors in local ,
- Design is developed by foreigner sources, specially RCS parameters and Noise chracteristics of engine/propeller/ hull will be known.
- Survability limits will be known by out-sources ,which doesnt contribute any with aim of Local FAC.
- High RCS due to stern deck , air intakes for engines are defendless and it clearly emerges a critical situation which may disable the vessel.
- Ineffective utilization of the deck
-------------------------------------------------
Dearsan advantages;
-Conversion of an existing design, creates a modular design to employ ships in different missions along just FAC.
-A well known ship production plan ( same as YTKB) , fastly may be produced but design criterias will be changed due to high speed and loading on the ship,
-Easiness for replenishment ,specially Anti-ship missiles to be replaced fastly and reloaded in dock fastly , this is what Navy looking for in task definition of FAC , unloading the weapons on a target and replenished quick as possible and taking place in action.
Disadvantages;
- Shipyard received a large scale production of YTKB.
- Lack of subcontractors in local ,
- High RCS due to stern deck , air intakes for engines are defendless and it clearly emerges a critical situation which may disable the vessel.
- Ineffective utilization of the deck
-YTKB's design isnt sufficient for criterias looked by SSM, stealthy design to make a mass strike on target.
---------------------------------------------------
Yonca-Onuk JV advantages;
- Conversion of an existing design, creates a modular design to employ ships in different missions along just FAC,
- Composite structure offered for FAC, gives a much better stealthy,
- Proven hull form , and design of a ship will be used for FAC,
- Durability and ballistic protection is better than steel structured vessels,
- Smaller design, energy efficient and will need less volume for engines.
- With a possibility they come with a 60 meter composite hull design like visby class , they will have more chance.
Disadvantages;
- Shipyard insists to build 44-45 meter long vessel, but the sizes not possible for fitting all needed equipments and missiles,
- Composite boats not preffered widely for combatant roles, steel is easier to repair in emergency conditions,
- Less crew will lead to crew members spealized in many profession , will increase the affords on each crew member also pshycological pressure on them,
- Smaller ship will be affected by softer sea states than other rivals about 65 m,
- Lack of subcontactors, also composite material is imported.
----------------------------------------------------
I have no information whether Sedef received a RfP , but they seem to be received some hull plans with contracts for a fast boat maybe not for this projects.
