no, not needed but TSK doesnt like turbine engines for land vehicles. too much fuel consumption, need heavy maintenance and money. during iraq operations US abrams heavily affected by desert environment . it was a tendency from the beginning of 1980's but later world armies changed their minds to diesel engines.

Yep, If you are developing a v12 military diesel engine that produces 1500 HP in a dry state. Most countries that develop v12 engines get the gearbox from the outside. South Korea and Italy are examples.

it isnt can be upgraded to hybrid with range extender's also we cannot make a operation on desert enviroment generally.
