3. Turkish companies to participate in Arms and Security 2017 exhibition in Ukraine

Turkey’s defenсe companies will participate in the upcoming XIV International specialized exhibition “Arms and Security – 2017” in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The biggest Turkish defence contractors Aselsan, Roketsan, BMC and ARES Shipyard already claimed that they will participate in the Arms and Security – 2017 exhibition held at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv for four days from October 10th to 13th.

Now Ukraine is becoming Turkey’s new go-to defense technology partner. Strategic ties between Turkey and Ukraine in the fields of defense and military cooperation are flourishing.

Turkey’s interest in the Ukrainian defense industry is basically in satellite technologies, diesel engines, ballistic missile solid fuel engines and cruise missiles. It is interesting to learn, based on their joint projects, that Turkey is particularly interested in cruise missiles.

According to defense industry expert Arda Mevlutoglu, Ukraine has advanced capability in electronic warfare, radar technology and engines. Mevlutoglu said Turkey’s most urgent needs from Ukraine are diesel engines.

The Arms and Security – 2017 exhibition conducting on the eve of the Day of Defender of Ukraine will have not only a great practical but also social significance. The exhibition “Arms and Security” is a unique tool for the deepening of military and military‑technical cooperation with foreign partners, to strengthen domestic economic potential and for the union of all Ukrainian citizens, regardless of gender, nationality or religion, around the idea of building a new strong and prosperous Ukraine.

Pakistan Hava Kuvvetleri, düşük maliyetli operasyon için pervaneli yakın destek uçağı konusunda çalışmalara başladı. Başta TAI olmak üzere yakından takip edilen bu ihaleye Türkiye silahlı platform haline getirilen Hürkuş C modelini öneriyor.

Yakın destek operasyonlarını daha düşük maliyetle yapabilmek için planlanan alımda, TAI’nin Hürkuş C modeli ile birlikte Brezilyalı Embraer’in tasarladığı, ABD merkezli Fatih Özmen’in sahip olduğu Sierra Nevada Corporation tarafından geliştirilen EMB 314 Super Tucano ile IOMAX’ın Archangel tipi uçaklarının da ihaleye girmesi bekleniyor.

Son dönemlerde pervaneli uçaklara talebin artması dikkat çekiyor.TAI, Hürkuş C için ilk siparişi Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri’nden alırken, Super Tucano ise Afganistan, Angola, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghama ve Mozambik’e satış gerçekleştirdi. IOMAX Archangel ise Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri ve Ürdün’e satıldı. Uçakla Mısır da ilgileniyor.

HÜRKUŞ'UN EĞİTİM MODELİ DE ÖNERİYOR

Pakistan'a ATAK T-129 helikopterinin satışı konusunda ciddi yol kat eden TAI, bu projede Hürkuş C'nin yanı sıra uçağın hava kuvvetleri eğitim modeli B'yi de Pakistan'a öneriyor. Türk Hava Kuvvetleri'nin T-37 eğitim uçaklarını emekli etmesinin ardından bu uçaklar Pakistan'a hibe edilmişti.

Bakımlarının tamamlanmasının ardından yeniden uçmaya başlayan T-37'lerin hizmet ömürlerini tamamlamasının ardından Türk Hava Kuvvetleri gibi Pakistan'ın da Hürkuş B kullanabileceği, böylelikle filo operasyon maliyetlerinin daha uygun olarak yapılabileceğine dikkat çekiliyor.

What East European country? Ukraine and Azerbaycan come as the only potential customers IMO...
Serbia and Belarus use the plane but if they need any weapons they will go for their russian equivalents for sure. Bulgarian and Poland also operate them but as EU countries dependent on what Brussels and Washington wants they won't go for Turkish weapons. Poland probably even develops it's own equivalents.
