Turkish Defence Industry Exports & Updates

Delta Defence license producing Ukrainian APC's... nothing spectacular about that. At least Turkey would get some crust of that pie.

I was thinking the vehicle was going to be poorly made, but from all the pictures I've seen.. It's actually pretty good.. Those suicide doors make so much sense in a defensive way, both doors open, they have protection from rear and front.

80 6x6's aka TUR-K3's for Turkish Police

Anybody have pictures of those? I went on their website but there was nothing about a 6x6 and the 4x4 looks too different than those on the pictures.

Also they are using FNSS Kaplan-20 Picture on their own website, pretty sure they have no connection to FNSS. Doesn't look legal and the whole firm gives me shady vibes. Using renders of other firms vehicles and the whole site looks unprofessional, so why are we buying from this firm 6x6 vehicles for our police when FNSS,Otokar and others have better options?!

Hope this is fake news.

Bangladesh Army awards $1 billion APC contract to Turkey

The Bangladesh Armed Forces and General Directorate of Police have awarded two separate armored personnel carrier contracts to Turkish "Delta Defense Defense Sanayii A.Ş.". The company represents the appropriate version of the 6TD tank engine, which is being procured from Ukraine for the Altay main battle tank. This time, the company has adapted the DOZER B vehicles produced in Ukraine to the Bangladesh tender specifications and designated the new version as TUR-K. According to the information we obtained from the company, Delta Defence has won the armored personnel carrier tender which was issued by General Directorate of Security in Bangladesh and the Armed Forces. The company presented the changes on Ukraine's DOZER B requested by the Bangladesh Armed Forces through TUR-K2 version. The vehicles that successfully passed the tests were accepted by the service. The company will deliver 100 DOZER-B TUR-K2 to the armed forces in 2018, 150 in 2019 and a total of 600 in five years. On the other hand, the company will deliver the first two orders of the TUR-K3 version, the 6x6 armored personnel carrier, within nine months. The service will purchase 80 vehicles. The export contract has a value of approximately $1 billion.

@Bismarck

I am little bit skeptic. @chatterjee ?

I find price a little expensive. Price of per TUR-K vehicle is more than $1,5million, while price of per Kirpi MRAP together with ASELSAN Sarp RCW is less than $1million, and ASELSAN's Sarp is not a cheap RCW o_O

In the term of protection, TUR-K2 is equal to Ejder Yalçın, or even lower protection capacity than Ejder Yalçın.

Maybe prices change when it's export, i don't know about pricing policies of the companies.

even if this true, this is no brainer to importing large number of simple design APCs without efforts to assemble them locally

That company should not be allowed to market foreign products when its in an area where we have plenty of good local alternatives. Thats 1 billion Dollar FNSS, Otokar or BMC will not get.

We should maintain an open market policy. Preventing the company from marketing foreign products will not earn 1 b for bmc, the mother company will just sell its own products instead. And our company will be deprived of its profits.

The upgraded Ukrainian T-64BV tanks will be able to perform their tasks effectively, even in the face of severe interference with communication systems. New advantages on the battlefield will be obtained by Ukrainian tanks thanks to Turkish systems that will be installed on upgraded heavy armored vehicles.

"Today, Soviet-made tank radio stations Р-123 are easily listened to and suppressed by REB systems that are actively used by Russia's opponent in the ATO zone in eastern Ukraine. However, with the supply of new digital communication systems, this advantage of the enemy will be leveled "- so the Ministry of Defense commented on measures related to the equipment of tanks of the new communication system.

VHF radio stations from the company Aselsan became winners in comparative trials that were recently completed in the Armed Forces. They are designed and manufactured to meet NATO requirements and standards. According to its technical capabilities, as well as the "efficiency-cost" criterion, the line of radio stations of the "9661" series proved to be better both on the basis of the establishment of a stable connection and on the ability to operate under the influence of powerful means of the REB. During the tests in Ukraine, new French funds of the REB were used to suppress. Specialists noted that the result was the same as in Syria and Azerbaijan, where against the Turkish radio stations the Russian means of the CEC were used - without breaking the process of command of the troops. During the tests in Ukraine, a Turkish radio station with a capacity of 50 watts ensured a reliable connection between objects at the greatest distance compared with competitors. Another important advantage of the Turkish VHF communication systems is that they, without any further elaboration, ensure full integration with Motorola radio equipment, which is widely used by personnel in the Armed Forces and the National Guard. Also, Aselsan has taken into account all the wishes expressed by the Ukrainian side, including the willingness to organize joint production and the transfer of certain key technologies, which none of the other foreign developers and suppliers to share with Ukraine did not want.

A contract concluded with a Turkish party involves the supply of equipment and radio stations in an amount sufficient to equip one tactical connection. By the end of the year, one tank battalion with modernized T-64BM is planned to be equipped with new communication systems from the company Aselsan. Also , an upgrade version of the T-72 tanks to the T-72 AMT version has been developed , which will also include new radio stations from the company Aselsan. Samples of modernized tanks with new equipment will be demonstrated in Kiev during the exhibition of new equipment and weapons on the Independence Day of Ukraine on August 24, 2017.

Work on the adaptation of technological and industrial solutions from the Turkish company Aselsan to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is carried out with the participation of the Ukrainian company Everest. Everest has twenty five years of experience and expertise in implementing IT projects for domestic and foreign customers both in the civilian commercial sector and in the field of national security and defense.

I thought an Israeli company won the tender ?

I thought an Israeli company won the tender ?

As far as I know, the tender was canceled due to corruption and an investigation was launched. You can watch the related video from below, but it is ukrainian.

http://espreso.tv/video/248447

Goggle translate:

"The provision of Ukrainian troops with modern means of communication after three years of war with Russia remains virtually unresolved. Everything - through the game of parliamentary lobbyists. At stake - a government order worth hundreds of millions of hryvnias. The Defense Minister last year recommended buying the latest military equipment at the Turkish company "Aselsan". Meanwhile, the mood in the government changed after the lobbyists of the Israeli supplier "Elbit Systems" joined, among which there were people's deputies, and a lawyer known in Ukraine for criminal authority Semyon Mogilevich. How do Israeli and Turkish suppliers compete for millions of Ukrainian taxpayers with the hands of Ukrainian politicians? And will not the newest systems of military special communication be vulnerable to Russian technical means? See our investigation."
