What's stopping the leaders making an executive decision on another platform after the TF-X?

Take China as an example, despite not having a solid foundation on engineering/building national fighter jets, they have two separate projects in-line e.g. J-20 and J-31... Both having different characteristics and have separate mission aims.

How can you compare us to China? Their knowledge is way ahead of ours, you have to be realistic.

We are making good strides but we still have a long way to make more advanced engineering products.

Interesting thing about AN188 is that it can carry 40t of cargo while AN70 can carry 47t.
