Turkey wants to buy 40 new F-16 block70 and 80 F-16 modernization to the Viper standard

US thinks sanctions weakens a nation. Infact the opposite happens. The nation under sanctions begins to develop. Additionally CATSA and recent American control on weapons such as the f35 spying on its end users will push nations away from American military hardware. Long term America will lose

When I told you that the Turks made the right choice; these F-35s are a problem nest.

According to explanations given by General Shin Ok-chul, the RoKAF deputy chief of staff, the F-35A was flying at low altitude when its pilot was surprised by detonations, which led him to check the systems of its devices.

These "had ceased to function, with the exception of the flight controls and the engine," General Shin explained during a parliamentary hearing on January 5. And to add that the pilot decided not to eject himself and to try to land his F-35A on his stomach.

As a precaution, and while awaiting the conclusions of the investigation ordered after this incident, the RoKAF decided to immobilize all of its F-35As.
The revered F16 designer has already declared the F-35 project as a ponzy scheme....

US sanctions work like charm against smaller nation but against major power like China or Russia, it will not work.

Actually it's the economic sanctions that hurt the most. Like iran is suffering from even lack of medicines. This is basically war.

re these fighters that Pakistan will acquire, especially about radar suite and long-range A-A (Pl-15s) missiles, exactly the same as the system used by China, or will they be exported in downgraded versions?

Noone can now this without having access to top secret information within china.

Why would Turkey need US AESA radar to modernise 80 of its F-16s?

I hope its own AESA radar programme has not had a set-back.
Only few countries can make such things. I don’t think Turkey can. As for the F16 deal it won’t get thru. sentiment in the US gov and Congress is against Turkey.
Erdogan should focus more on fixing the economy instead. He gives out money he doesn’t have to prepare wars.

Because it’s a very complicated piece of hardware and software. It’s like making a rocket to fly to the Moon.

How do you now that Turkey is not capable to make such things, and wher does the idea comes from. That you need to go to the moon and back to build a fighter?

I said that without offending anyone. Turkey is not known as technology nation. In the world it’s only the G7 countries, then Japan, Korea, China and Russia. Actually it’s much more complicate to make a modern radar. The mission computer to the Moon just had 2kB RAM and 32kB ROM.

Turkey is proceeding an airborne AESA radar project for F16 since 2015-16 and it is almost ready.

Turkey, SSB: "We have been working on Aesa radars and sub elements for about 10 years, during this time we have actively included inventories many products from early warning radars to other strategic radars types customized for specific areas. We are in the final phase for Airborne Aesa radar, and we want to install this radar on all our combatant aircrafts."

A member of the PDF forum: "No you can't, you don't have this technological capacity."

Turkey doesn't want a sub-model of the F-35
the agreements concerning the F-35 are no longer relevant, the condition requested by the Turkish engineers is not fulfilled.
Full access to the source code of the device is not accepted by the USA.
If they accept the Turks can reverse their decisions, otherwise this story is a thing of the past.
You do not understand Turkish and you do not know the statements of Turkish experts on this subject.

The Air Force has already moved to buy new F-15EX aircraft.
The F-15EX costs an estimated $20,000 per hour to fly. The F-35 runs $44,000. Lockheed-Martin has promised to bring that cost down to $25,000, but it’s been promising that for years.
If the U.S. Air Force doesn't want it, neither do the Turks.
What is per hour cost of j20
