Iran is a not a major power like Turkiye. Turkiye manufactures all the equipment locally while India imports. India is importing ships from Turkiye.

Iran I was talking about logistics advantage being in it's own backyard.....

India is importing some patrol ships but that doesn't mean we need only Turkey for these..... maybe they were the lowest bidder.... apart from this India makes destroyers like vishakhapatanam, kolkata, corvettes like SHIVALIK, nuclear submarines like arihant, building air craft carrier you think we won't be able to make those ships if we want???

I previously said many factors are behind such deals.... maybe our shipyards are fully occupied, maybe Turkish offer is a cheap compared to other countries, even kickbacks can't be denied..... but Turkey is not the end of this world to get these very casual type of ships if we want.....

its same like Pakistan buying yarmook class ships from tiny Romania......

Turkey's TAIS contracted $2.3 billion deal to build 5 fleet support Tankers of 45,000 tons for Indian Navy
TAIS will manufacture the ships in a local shipyard as part of the Indian project

Thanks to S-400, the Turkish engineers now have an understanding of the Russian way of solving the long range radar and AD missile problems. They have had an access to S-300 radar systems, which helped them to develop KORAL EW/A system. And, KORAL in turn does the background job for the spectacular "YouTube videos" from the Turkish UAVs destroying armored, AD, missile/rocket launchers etc. at will. S-400 immensely helps Turkey to develop their indigenous THAAD type all-inclusive and combo AD umbrella solution....

S-400 use old style PESA radars. Nothing much to learn there.
