Turkey to develop new medium combat aircraft

Western countries spend a schit load of money on marketing, lobbying and outright bribing to make their "marginally better but excessively overpriced" products look like your nation would be wiped out without them.
The marginally better products tends to shoot down the marginally worse products in droves,
which some people have noticed.

Are you serious ? German Berlin AP delayed since 10 years and 3 times expensive as planned, same for Highspeed TrainStation Stuttgart, Hamburg Opera. Wanna more?

.
In conclusion too much if and nothing done yet ... three years are impossible; period.
Every other claims can simply be taken as wishful thinking, nationalistic propaganda or wet-dreams from some fan-boys

TEMEL KOTIL ( the President & CEO of Turkish Aerospace Industries ) is not Fanboy ...

The first Turkish local design medium Combat Aircraft is set to make its maiden flight in 2022, said TEMEL KOTIL, the CEO of Turkish Aerospace Industries

and HURJET possibly equipped with new Ukraine made AI-222-25F turbofan engines.
The engine was originally intended for the Russian Yakovlev Yak-130 and Chinese Hongdu L-15

TAI ANKA Armed Drone ( UCAV ) entered into service by 2017
TAI HURKUS-C Light Attack and Armed Reconnaissance Aircraft will enter into service by 2018

The modern battle zone is a lot more complicated than that. Outcomes of wars aren't determined by just a comparison of one particular airplane versus another.

Dear @ATALAY, please don't get me wrong and I admire both Your enthusiasm and the latest Turkish developments in the aerospace sector, however I beg to remain realistic.

Your sentence alone includes three huge IFs and IMO even two more are system inherent:

- If you can reach an agreement with Alenia ... so far no negotiations started
- If a decision is made for Spartan coproduction
- If Motor Sich is getting contracted ... also far from concluded yet.
- If the political situation is stable enough and budget is granted
- If technically everything goes fine ....

In conclusion too much if and nothing done yet ... three years are impossible; period.

In current development schedule,

-Hurjet won't have a partner/know-how/consultancy provider (not planned at present)
-Avionics/EW/communication/mission computer package will be upgraded variant of alredy developed systems.
-Engine will be domestic in mid/long term since there is a serious efforts to develop domestic gas turbine engines but In short term, Engines will be provided from foreign sources.
-Hurjet is not a wish or propaganda but a pure reality. She may delay/meet some difficulties on roadway but she will reach the sky sooner or later.

Thanks for Your reply and explanation and like I said I admire these latest efforts and wish them all the best.
What I however criticise is this "hyping" of each and every project as if all other current projects from well established design teams have to be awe-inspired.
They will "reach the sky" ... but IMO more likely later than sooner and to assume they are the best or the best is a bit far-fetched given the track-record.

Again I wish them all the best and to have a tough scheduled is probably a good ide ... but IMO there's too much hype, too much nationalism and unrealistic estimations, very much similar to most Russian projects.

LMAO...What's it to you how Turks or Pakistanis express their views or excitement for TFX ? If you don't like it don't visit this sub-section people here aren't going to bow down to meet your skeptisim.

What a stupid reply.
Can we leave this political issues and provocations out of a technical discussion please? ... and WWII issues are surely in no way related to this program.

By the way I'm sure in Your country's own history - as in all others too - we can find similar issues. All not related to this stuff, so leave it.
