Bidders Vie for $2 Billion Turkish Missile Shield, Sabah Says.....

The United States, Russia, China and a European partnership are among bidders for a Turkish national missile defense project expected to be worth $2 billion, Sabah newspaper reported.

The project is separate from a larger missile defense shield that NATO wants to place in Turkey to protect all alliance countries in Europe, Sabah said.

Systems submitted to the Turkish bid include the USA’s Patriot, Russia’s S-400, China’s FD-2000 and the Eurosam Samp-T produced by a French-Italian partnership, Sabah said citing Murad Bayar, undersecretary for the national defense industry. The systems will be placed in Istanbul and Ankara, with two other locations to be decided based on threat level, Sabah said.

Patriot is a long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defence system to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and advanced aircraft. Patriot (MIM-104) is produced by Raytheon in Massachusetts and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Florida.

Yes bro. S400's good chosen. i and most of Turks want S400s.. But Italian/French consortium gives more tech. transfer chance !! I know they have signed agreement with Roketsan company(if i am wrong, someone can make it correct) ... That's why Aster 30 has more chance !!

can be ? 2019 is a great date, i think they prepared somethings in last year while negotiate with foreign companies.

I think Turkey might go with Patriot with THAAD too in good numbers.

Brother if we get foreign system, everytime we have to take permission from them while do military operations. otherwise they can block the system while in the war, this is an unacceptable situation for us.

Little mistake Patriot 3 are not THAAD , only SM3 s land based or on US Aegis and Japanese Kongo destroyers
