What's new

TTP is not our concern, but Pakistan’s: Afghan Taliban

.
Not sure why Pakistanis are hoping for Taliban to fight Pakistan's war.

Did Pakistan fight Taliban's war for the last 20-years? What action did Pakistan military take against US forces operating from Pakistan?

Do you think ak 47 trotting guerrillas really defeated usa without foreign help?

If I were him, that is exactly what I would say too.

He is confirming that TTP has no connection with TTA, and will not enjoy their protection or assistance. Pakistan can do with them as they please.

Surely he cannot be expected to say that his government will help a foreign country deal with its problems. Mind you, he may say that behind closed doors as part of a quid pro quo. But he cannot make a public statement to that effect.

I don't understand the motivation behind spinning everything to show that Pakistan somehow loses from these new developments. Who benefits from this spin doctoring? Or do they just want to contradict the government and armed forces out of spite?

. .
What was that help exactly?

Their leaders not handed over to US when insurgency was on deathbed when it was realised that US is double crossing for starters..

Every one in talib leadership has been in pak custody for starters but wasn't handed over

Name one leader which was not in pak custody or who's family is not resident here

So holding the Taliban leadership under custody/house arrest and making plain to the US of their whereabouts of the Taliban leadership, i.e. under arrest and hampering their war effort was a great favour from Pakistan?

What's written on the back cover?

What war effort man? This was the most humiliating defeat which was turned around...

Try fighting with your women and children under constant threat of not death but a life worse then death.... Man can fight women cannot

They were sheltered... That's more than enough

What do you think their fate would have been without shelter and do you really think they would have won??

U cannot have an insurgency without a safe shelter by law as solid as newton's law of gravity

Sheeda Talli should jump off a cliff. I had mentioned this earlier that these afghani jahils have been very coy about speaking against TTP.
And now its finally out of the bag. Your views?
Then maybe a 500 pound bomb should pay TTP terrorists sitting across the border a visit.

If it's our problem, we should deal with it, after all IEA has promised their soil won't be used against us.

You are underestimating the Taliban and trying to give credit to those where none is due.

The Taliban are warriors in Shalwar, kameez and slippers. They're not like some supposedly professional army soldiers stationed at the border posts with their survival and fighting capability dependent on proper military gear.

.
Probably the best time to outreach and reassure all tribal elders in areas along the border that the PA and FC is capable of dealing with the TTP, and need the government needs their help to isolate and bring to justice (one way or another) these miscreants. Once the TTP know they can’t hide anywhere anymore, close the net on them and scoop them up. Prosecute those that enable them within the law to break their ability to respawn like any mafia organization.

Sure so why is akhwandzada living in pak for last 10 years with family? Why not to dwell in a cave and fight like a proper warrior in shalwar kameez and slipper?

Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid

KARACHI:
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has said that the issue of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is not for Afghanistan to resolve but must be solved by the Pakistani government.

The spokesperson’s comments came during an interview with a private news channel when he was questioned if Taliban leaders would ask the TTP to not engage in conflict with Pakistan.

It is dependent upon upon Pakistan, and Pakistani ulema, not the Taliban, to decide whether or not the TTP’s war is legitimate and to formulate a strategy in response,” Mujahid stated.

He emphasised that the future Afghan government, made under the Taliban, would have a rightful say regarding the matter.

“However, our stance is that the Afghan soil will not be used by anyone to destroy the peace of another country,” he maintained, adding that if the TTP considered the Taliban their leaders they would follow their orders.

New government
According to the spokesperson, full-fledged efforts are being made to create a government in Afghanistan. However, he added that there have been minor setbacks.

"Entering Kabul suddenly and taking over the government was unanticipated. We want to hold wide-ranging talks regarding the formation of a government, so that a strong government can be created," he said.

Mujahid reiterated that the Taliban wanted to put an end to the war and create a system with everyone’s input and representation of the people’s wishes.

The spokesperson hoped the Taliban would make an announcement regarding the formation of a new government in a few days.

He further claimed that advice from talks with former Afghan president Hamid Karzai and former chief executive officer, Dr Abdullah Abdullah, besides former vice presidents, Yunus Qanuni and Abdul Rashid Dostum, is being considered.

"We are consulting all leaders present in Kabul. We are in touch with them, and their recommendations are important to us," he added.

Mujahid stated that the Taliban will avoid the inclusion of those who were at the centre of the conflict in the past, and instead opt for individuals who have peoples' support.

He reiterated that leaders of the past will not be sidelined and will be consulted routinely.

Panjshir valley
Commenting on the control of the Panjshir valley, where an anti-Taliban resistance under Ahmed Massoud of the National Resistance Front has escalated, Mujahid claimed that the militant group is "60% confident that the issue can be resolved through talks".

The spokesperson said the Taliban want to bring Panjshir under their control and hoped it would not come down to a war.

"This way the honour of the people there will remain intact, and we will treat them with respect," he added.

Mujahid maintained that the leaders in Panjshir had indicated they do not want war in talks with the Taliban.

According to the spokesperson, if a war did breakout the Taliban’s victory would be swift because they have the valley “surrounded” and are present in Badakhshan, Paghman and Takharo Parwan.
However, our stance is that the Afghan soil will not be used by anyone to destroy the peace of another country,” he maintained, adding that if the TTP considered the Taliban their leaders they would follow their orders.
