Tourism boom in Bangladesh.

@bluesky

Mistri bhai, Padma bridge will pay back a decade ahead of schedule and create millions of jobs in poverty stricken South West.

Tourism potentials of south west is unlimited thanks to Padma Bridge.

@UKBengali
@EasyNow

Padma Bridge was built with BD own funds and so no external debt incurred on the bridge.

The railway section needed around a 2 billion US dollar Chinese loan to fund it.

Like some have been saying it would have cost BD money not to have built these infrastructure and take on debt as otherwise tourism and industry/commerce could not flourish the way it has been doing over the last 5 years especially.

Lots of tourists flocked at Bandarban, Rangamati and Kuakata. All the hotels in Bandarban and Rangamati are fully occupied so are restaurants. Kuakata's more than 150 hotels, motels and cottages are totally booked 7 days ago, so many tourists are forced to open-air night or at relatives' homes.

Loving how Padma bridge is changing the prospect of the south west.

Idiot trolls!

BNP et al eat humble pie.

This is why BNP is a danger to BD.

BNP leaders need locking up.

@Homo Sapiens bhai - we should have named this thread "Local tourism boom" to not misle folks from other countries...

We Bangladeshi people have to change our mentality that tourists mean foreigners. We have this impression because we were not used to seeing our people traveling for recreational purposes. But in every big country with established tourism sector, tourism means domestic tourism. This is where majority of tourists and tourism imcome is generated. For example, Germany receives 40 million foreign tourists every year, yet their 90 percent tourists and tourism revenue is generated by domestic tourists. This is even true for popular tourist destinations in Asia like Vietnam or Thailand. Vast majority of their tourist consists of local people. Tourists mean foreigners only in tiny, tourism only economy like Maldives or Monaco where up to 70 percent of GDP comes from foreign tourists. A populous country like Bangladesh, tourism will always mean domestic tourism no matter how many millions of foreign tourists we receive. So the headline is correct in real sense and I think majority of foreigners here will understand it correctly.

Record breaking 50,000 tourists flocked to Khagrachari district tourist spots on this holiday.

Even on the last day of holiday, 150,000 tourists came to Cox's Bazar !

But, but, Bangladesh is in crisis 😂😂😂
Not only within the country, a big number of Bangladeshi tourists also rushed to Kolkata, India and are suffering extreme hardship due to lack of accommodation and dinning options. Indian immigration at Benapole-Petrapole land crossing is horrible. Kolkata Baniyas have increased hotel rent and food price several times than usual to cut throat of these tourists. Big queues at restaurants. Many Bangladeshi tourists are spending open-air nights on the roads.

Serves the buggers right for going there!

Spend the money at home!!!

All the tourist spots in Rangamati are full. One hundred thousand tourists visited Rangamati in the last three days.

Beautiful!

That explains the withdrawals from banks!

Bangladeshis just wanted to unwind.

It’s great for the economy!

Shame on the idiots who went to India instead!!!

All the curses of having way too much money compared to one's brains.

But there is little option to spend money on things in Bangladesh in any case.

And why go to spend money in Kolkata of all places when they treat Bangladeshis like trash, calling us Kangladeshis?
