What's new

Tourism boom in Bangladesh.

All those videos of people flocking to tourist destinations have been carefully staged by BAL as a poor BD economy cannot sustain this level of spending.

True donkey’s that cannot appreciate that BD is one of the best run countries in the world.

@bluesky mistri bhai - what is your response 😂😂🤣🤣

Shob ki BBS er shajano natok 😂😂🤣🤣

If it is, it’s of Humayun Ahmed’s tacky variety 😂🤣🤣🤣

@bluesky is angry because he is stuck at his tiny Tokyo flat instead of partying at Kuakata 🤣

He seems to have good knowledge of construction and with his knowledge of Japanese language and culture he would be highly sought after in BD.

He spends all his time whinging from Japan when he could be making good money and joining in the fun times in BD.

Why Southern Bangladesh will witness more tourist influx in 2023?

The Southern part of Bangladesh has a lot of places that tourists like to travel to, such as Cox’s Bazar, Kuakata, the districts of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, etc. However, many unknown places have recently come into the picture, and suddenly, Southern regions of the country are being considered the next tourist hubs.

The floating guava markets of Pirojpur and Jhalokathi have recently been quite well known to tourists and explorers, as commuting to those places from Dhaka is relatively easy with the inauguration of the Padma Bridge. It now takes only 3 to 4 hours to get to Barisal.

And after reaching Barisal, it takes no more than 40 minutes to move to the Nesarabad Upazila of Pirojpur, where the most well-known floating guava markets are situated.

With Padma Bridge in its place, tourists find it easier to visit places in the South-Western parts of the country, which previously used to be quite hard.

The Sundarbans and Kuakata are also seeing a larger influx of tourists than before, as previously, the waterway happened to be the biggest hindrance when visiting these places.

Many resorts have also recently been created around the Sundarbans, facilitating an even greater influx of tourists in places like Mongla in Bagerhat and Dakop in Khulna.

Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation has recently come up with guided tours in places like Gopalganj and Kuakata. Many new resorts are also being created in places like Faridpur and Gopalgonj, which will attract more tourists there.

The Padma Multipurpose Bridge has connected the Southern part of the country with the other parts. There is where this particular region of the country looks promising as the new tourist hub of the country in 2023.

Kotebari, Cumilla is a magnet of archeological tourism. Here 1200 years old ancient monuments are dotted across the landscape. Each month about one hundred thousand tourists visit this place. But tourism facilities are inadequate. This place has the possibility to turn into one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Bangladesh with proper infrastructure development and marketing.

More than a million tourists visited Sylhet's tourist spots during recent Eid holiday. Tourism sector earned at least 10 Billion Taka from it.

I think internal tourism will drive local tourism sector in droves.

Don't really need foreign tourists. But archeological sites should be protected with restricted areas, Uneducated people have a tendency to vandalize these sites by stealing bricks etc. (talking about Moinamati and Paharpur specifically).

Tourists flock to Kuakata to take advantage of 3 days holiday starting from today. 80-90% hotel, motel rooms are already booked.

Kuakata needs a proper marine drive and zoning for modern hotels and restaurants along the coast (seawall). Right now what faces the coast is essentially a Kutcha Bazaar with Tong er dukan and ramshackle bamboo wall "restaurants" serving fresh fried catch from the sea.....

House boat and floating restaurant now added to Kaptai Lake.
