Just by reading that made me think of a saying the British Armed Forces use some times: 'Big or small, f*ck'em all'.

And theres no reason why the US would want to invade, attack, pick a fight with or whatever. Theres no logic in it.

A quick edit: Although the US have a vast amount of equipment and personel, but they don't have one thing that most countries have. Experience. Yes they've fought wars all over the world with, some...Success, (I emphasize the word(s) 'Some' and 'Success') because they are a relatively "new" country and are still, if you like, in the learning process of fighting wars. Thats not something you cannot hold againts them in an innocent conversation because its just the way it is. Where as other countries such as the UK, France, Spain, Russia so on and so on, have, and have learn't for a whole lot longer and of course learn some more when they're called into fighting a war.

Yet this was another war where America was not on their own and with other countries as her allies, (which is something something not mentioned very much), countries such as; Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, South Vietnam, Thailand, Khmer Republic, Kingdom of Laos, Rebuplic of China and the Philppenes, yet, it was a lost cause, Communist Vietnam were victorious. If you believe everything is propaganda and everything was for oil, then so be it, it is your right. As to why we started the WOT you can check the casus belli, I thought the reasons are clear.

I will agree with Blackstone on one point, when you are fighting an insurgency such as the Taliban in Afghanistan, all your technological advances are multiplied by zero, just as during a hostage situation your numbers are nullified. It would be unfair to try and find how mighty America is militarily by reviewing their position in the war against terror.
It is not a conventional war where two parties go on head to head and the powerful come out on top, rather it is a fight where your enemy stabs you in the back and disappears into the shadow, and keeps doing so until you slowly bleed to death.
It might sound very philosophical but it's really very simple, basic strategy...............
