we leased it way back in the late 80s for a period of 3 yrs . it was then returned. it was a Charlie class SSN

actually the charlie class SSN was supposed to be leased for 5 years or something but was returned due to tremendous pressure from US.

LOL the article says the missile is armed with four 533mm torpedo tubes and four 650 mm torpedo tubes. WTH !!

Note: It says storage space for 40 torps/mines/MISSILES. It is being armed with the 300-km Club nuclear capable missiles, most likely 24 of them. However, it is not known if India will receive Shkval rocket-assisted torpedoes.

btw, the Klub-S missiles are not coming as part of the deal but is part of another deal exclusively for Klub-s missiles signed as up-gradation for the other russian diesel subs with IN.

Considering the fact that some of the neighbors are building naval bases at random islands near Indian Ocean, well just to check the whole "Surround India" by Chinese friends.
