The Russians have highlighted a very important point. The US is simply blame gaming.

When 40% of Afghanistan is under Taliban control and nearly all of Helmand is under Taliban control then blaming Iran, pakistan and Russia makes no sense.

It is open that the Taliban bank roll their war on two major sources.

The poppy fields in kandahar, helmand which are under Taliban control and the Taliban are making nearly 2-3 billion dollars ( an estimate of 2016) from them.

The second are the mines of badakshan and northern Afghanistan from where Taliban are earning hundreds of millions of dollars to fund their war.

Every documentary has highlighted that the Taliban offer better pay and package than the ANA and the Taliban buy oil and equipment from the ANA and corrupt government officials.

Today zana khan fell. A few weeks ago jani khel fell. This is not the fault of Iran, Russia or pakistan. Its the fault of the american war machine that has no clue what to do and the pumping of billions of dollars in a corrupt regime that is basically the union of war Lords.


Any half baked general would tell you that to end a war you need to their supplies and source of income and their income comes from Afghanistan. Retake the source and leave them defeated and wanted. Rather than blaming Russians Iran or pakistan how about america figures out why their 16 year effort of training an adequate force to protect Afghanistan has failed. Why can't the ANA despite better equipment deal damage to Taliban like they can to ANA. Why capitals fall and why is our presence and help on military level still needed.

Find the holes of corruption and plug them rather than making statements like we are not nation building but killing terrorists.

That's great and all but tour actions are contradictory. If you were killing terrorists then you would be of course looking for military solution to retake lost land and kill them.

The thing is the US is helpless at the moment. It has no idea what to do.

The nation building has failed with war Lords and corrupt government having somehow inhaled a trillion dollars in 16 years!

The military solution is failing as Taliban is gaining ground. ( although they should have accepted the 2002 peace offer of Taliban)

The ANA is wholly incompetent and the people are demoralized.

At this point the US really is blame gaming to create a sense of doing something.

Trump words shows his frustration. He is a business man and think like a business man. US presence is becoming more and more of a liability and trump wants to cut liabilities as much as possible but a group in US is not letting him to do this (because of obvious reasons) so trump has no other way except what he is saying. In future, more aggressive US stance is obvious with cuts in CSF. In short US wants to leave Afghanistan as victorious and with dignity and Pakistan (although sacrificing precious lives and any more things) is making sure that US will remain engaged in Afghanistan and keep feeding Dollars to Pakistan.

US efforts to involve India is nothing but to transfer some liabilities. India needs to do some analysis regarding cost of these liabilities and value of benefits it gets. But India has a person who is blinded by extremism and lost the ability to think wisely.

Policy making hands in Pakistan are tied by establishment insiders and elites who can not live without their or their family member presence in US. Knowing that full well US is just exploiting this weakness. If Pakistan can get away from these people then Pakistan can do lots of things. And that is the bottom line.

let me be the devils advocate here.why can't we act against the haqani network why are these guys still sacred and we still classifying terrorist as good or bad even after all we went through in last 12 years .

There have been, what, about 340 drone attacks inside Pakistan to this date? And yet Pakistani security situation has improved greatly and the economy is on upward stick. It's the US led economic sanctions and a designation of 'terrorist state' which will hurt Pakistan the most.
CPEC will be fine. It's as much for Pak as it is for China.
Finally, it will make Pakistanis unite--I bet a force of 20 million can be raised in a relative short time frame. India and the Afghan rulers will not be spared for their collusion in destroying Pakistan. Gloves will be truly off.

do u understand the meaning of decrease? And what happened last week? No one said terrorism vanished from Pakistan.. terrorism will remain problem for Pakistan till peace come to Afghanistan or we completly fence our border with Afghanistan and deploy forces as we have on eastern border.
