What did the shah do for Iran?

Nothing. He spent hundreds of billions on foreign arms, on himslef and his buddies, on foreign imports etc... Iranians were living in poverty, there was mass illiteracy, there was no industry, everything from expertise to physical goods was imported, oil money was plundered on shiny buildings and imports. On top of all this, he was trying to make Iran an ultra westernized nation. Ask any Iranian from that time and they will tell you that Iranian movies were practically pornographic movies. I've seen movies from that time and they were practically pornos. Meanwhile, censors banned any movies that showed the reality of Iranian society. If any documentary tried to film poverty in the country, the movies would get banned (there are many examples and I can direct you to these movies).

Under the current regime, practically EVERY SINGLE person born in the past 30 years has grown up literate. By the time the old generation dies in Iran, the country will have comparable literacy rates to the developed world. Health care and education were priotorized compared to the military. Industry has GROWN MASSIVELY. Today, you can see Iranian made products in every sector. From biscuits to heavy machinery, autos and even planes and trains. There is nothing we can't make and don't make. Quality might not be there yet, but we can make it without having to depend on others. The Iran-Iraq war dealt a heavy blow and set us back more than a decade. The country suffered around a trillion in damages and IRan's oil refineries were all bombed. Without that whole event, we would be in a much better situation today even. We also have to deal with the sanctions. There is practically no technology transfer from the developed world. What did the shah do with all the foreign support?

Look at the indicators. Iran's HDI is higher than Turkey. We produce more cars than Great Britain. Our scientific growth is 11X the world average and we're ahead of many Euro countries today. We're adding 5000 MW to the national electricity grid each year. We're one of the biggest steel and cement producers.

Do I agree with the regime's restrictions when it comes to social laws? No. But many people agree with them and even I am willing to overlook them for now.

Nope i'm not jealous nirreich, I'm ashamed that Jordan calls it self an Arab nation, while in reality they are nothing but slaves to Israel who sold their Arabism long time ago.

I will never forget King Hussein and Golda Meir meeting, when Hussein left the meeting with Syria and Egypt and quickly jumped on his helicopter to Tel Aviv to tell Golda of the October war plan.

And Iranians are for easing of the social restrictions, just as I am. In time, the regime will ease these restrictions just like China did. In the end though, Iranians are not against the regime. We see them as part of our society, even if we don't always agree with the mullahs. In the end, they were the product of Iranian society. The ******* shah was a western made puppet and he died an exile, just like all his ilk will die exiles in LA.

You see Nirreich, the difference between the hate Arabs have for Israel and other enemy states like Pakistan and India for example, is that, Israel is continually to this very moment going on abroad it's promise of it's peace deals, and ceasefires.

Compare this to the Pakistani and Indian conflict, India has stopped their expansion into Kashmir at 60-65%. Israel has not been doing this, rather, they continually build settlements and expand into further land that has been agreed not to be transgressed based on treaties.

There is no agreement and there never was that Israel cannot hold to territories it consider as vital.

Israel has no conflict with the Iranian people only with the Iranian radical regime. I hope that someday not long from now the Iranian people will have a better regime.

The US and France and whoever did not pass a single resolotion against Israel on massacre because Israel never did and will massacre innocent people. What about Syria? Al Hama in 1982 rigs a bell? the current using of military artillery and guns against civilians neighbourhoods? And these are Syrian people!

What Syria achieved? I what it can be proud of? Terrorism? Wars? Butchering women and children? No scientific contribution, no clutural breakthrough, no positive affect on anything.

Syria is one of the big failures of the international community, and instead of criticising your country, you are sitting in a middle of a mass graveyard of civilians and condemn Israel.
