The woes of Bangalis of Karachi

Apparently my countrymen have serious problems accepting that our racism and hatred for the Bengalis is what caused this mess and we still haven't learned, have we. I am ashamed of the way we are treating our Bengali citizens who have been Pakistanis for generations and who supported Pakistan against RAW and Mukti Bahini. It was Jinnah's decision to have Bengal a part of the Pakistani nation. If we have a problem with Bengalis we have an equal problem with Pakistan and Jinnah and have still not accepted the ethnic diversity of the country.

Brother, Bengalis love Pakistan and consider Pakistan as our own territory! I hope the great nation of Pakistan stands up to its real cause and gives citizenship to these people. There are some Pakistanis who have fallen into the trap of propaganda of the enemies but as long as there are Pakistanis like you, I have full hope in this nation. I hope Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala gives to Hidayah to other Pakistanis.

You didnt read it correctly they had fake cnic that they obtained through corrupt officials and they were cancelled when the racket was blown up just like id,s of Afghans were cancelled in the north

Neither you nor the other idiot has any idea about the argument here which is based on the exaggeration of the number of Bengalis living in Karachi. Go through my posts and try to understand what analogy I'm trying to show.

Talking about Karma when your Mukti Bahini brutally killed raped and plundered their own Bengali people for many years after Pakistan left, just because they did not want separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan. Most of them only had opinion and did not fight against Mukti Bahini. But just having an opinion got them killed , raped and banished. That's why so many too refuge in Pakistan.
You should ask real pro Pak bengalis and Biharis what they did to people they would cut people and throw them in rivers

This is bullshiiii no let me rephrase mauslichawal shit.

After 1971 fiasco almost everyone has been granted citizenships and they are not Bangladeshi anymore.

Who comes up with this crap?
@Nilgiri

Before the false-flagging troll completely drowns this thread with his dozens of accounts and starts talking to himself again (he's already begun), I just want to reiterate that no one in Pakistan thinks or cares about Bangladesh or the people that live there. Some uneducated, lower-income Pakistanis don't even know that the country exists. Nor are most of them sympathetic to the 1-3 million illegal immigrants that come from that namak-haraam country (after 1971).

Though some do have sympathy for the Rohingya refugees who have been unfairly stripped of their citizenship and have been oppressed in Myanmar. They have nowhere to call home. Even though they make more sense in India and Bangladesh, not Pakistan. There are also a few left that have a little bit of sympathy for Afghans fleeing the civil war going on their war-torn country, though even that is dissipating fast and many have been deported.

You're a funny bunch. The Afghans call you namak haram and now you're calling us namak haram. It's a vicious cycle. So who TF is namak haram?

I want exactly the same thing. The reunification of Bengal and Pakistan as that is what not only Jinnah wanted but Bengali leaders at that time like Nurul Amin, Chaudhry Nizamuddin, Humood ur rehman, Abdur Rahim, Iskandar Mirza supported it and fought for it with all their heart. Jinnah went to Dhaka multiple times and appreciated the commitment of Bengalis. Furthermore what proof is there that we are one people than the fact that the AIML which later made Pakistan was formed in Dacca and the principle supporters were Bengalis. It was our ethnic tensions followed by poor handling and Bhutto's unwillingness to accept a power sharing agreement or the legitimate Bengali government that led to this. Many Bengalis were at fault but so were we.

Brother I am one of those people lucky to have a huge family base spread over vast locations. I will explain my position a little. Some of our distant relatives lived in Bihar at the time of partition. They moved to Bengal after 47. Unlike most Pakistanis here trying to advocate the fact that Bengalis are some subhuman species capable only of treason they saw what happened in 71. Though they suffered the most at the hands of Mukti Bahini mobs and lost their profit making business they saw what we had done there too. Some Bengalis were killed in front of one of my distant uncles. So west Pakistanis killed innocent Bengalis and Mukti Bahini killed lots of innocent Biharis and west Pakistanis. The inciter and butcher of course was Bhutto and to an extent past governments and military leaders at the time like Yahya Khan, Tikka Khan and Niazi who all escaped while the common soldiers suffered.

Furthermore the Bengali response was flawed too of course. I mean a lot of nations have problems and extremely unequal situations between various regions. Rwanda, South Africa, French territories. But in each of these cases none of the various factions demanded independence or break up of the country. It was a loss for both of us in the end and for muslims too as the largest muslim nation in the world by population was broken.

Our own direct family btw moved from Lucknow after we suffered extreme persecution at the hands of the Indians. Pakistan is the only place that gave us refuge. They will not leave us as I saw recently. The first opportunity they have they will try to destroy us and I saw that. They did not even leave me in Karachi. We have to work together to bring India to its knees now, even if reunification is a distant dream.

No we have no such issue in Pak.
Fishermen or labourers, we have no issues or discrimination over work, caste etc.

My province (Balochistan) has a Bangali minister... and Makran coast = alot of fishing.

The issue here, is illegals in Pak...

People are becoming hostile to illegals, when they see afghanistan or bangladesh issue hostile statements.. or when they see afghanis or bangalis involved in crime or terrorism... it breeds more discontent.

Well that's very disappointing when the thick skinned west are accommodating hundreds and thousands of refugees from all over the Muslim world even though they may be causing social problems they are still tolerated but our own Muslim countries can't even bear the brunt?

Poverty breeds crime in my opinion.

.8 million Rohingyas
2.5 - 3 million Bangali
3-5+ million afghani
.5 million others

Are Bangali & afghani stateless?
Is Pak a super power?

Those Bengali who have gone to Pakistan is no longer our concern. Most of them are rajakar. If their Punjabi master don't like them or want to drive them out then it is their karma, justice served for betraying to their motherland. We have no sympathy for them.If some genuine Bangladeshi was stupid enough to go that God forsaken land wishing milk and honey than I must say we better not to allow those stupid, fool back among us.Let them enjoy their milk and honey there.
Yeah right. Refugees and illegal immigrants remain the citizens of their country of origin. Rojakar or not, the Bengalis in Pakistan are Bangladesh responsibility.
They took refuge in Pakistan after mukti Bahini kept on killing them due to their opinion of non separation from Pakistan.

Dont repeat Indian rubbish.
Those pictures of dead Bengalis on the banks of canals and rivers you see, are those of the victims of Bhola cyclone. That's why the storm surge dumped those bodies on river banks while receding.
The pics were later used for propaganda and provoke sentiments.
None of those dead bdy will have wound marks, signs of heavy bleeding, or limbs missing as would have been if killed in artillery firing or gun fire. All those died of drowning and hypothermia

What i an saying is as told by pro Pak bengalis about what Mukti did to Pakistanis

Even worse than that. Dhaka stadium hosted live Killing shows with spectators cheering while Mukti Bahini slowly torture another Bengali or Bihari for their stance of not wanting to separate from Pakistan. Also many were stuffed alive inside coal fired railway engines and burnt.

@waz @WAJsal

This thread has gone completely off-topic and is turning into yet another discussion about 1971, like everything else on this sub-forum. Please have a look.

I am a teenager, 17 years old. I have no affinity with Bangladesh, nor does 60% of Pak population that is younger than 25 years old. To us, its just another map far far away from our shores.

My perception of Bangladesh: it's a confused nation stuck in the past. After 'liberating' itself, it has found a new master. Ironically, the 10+ million illegal or undocumented Bangali migrants living in India fare worse than those living in Karachi/Pakistan but an average Bangali will only complain about Pakistan.

My impression of Bangali community in Karachi; seedhe saadhe log, usually poverty stricken due to the fact that they have huge families of average 5-6 children and parents are mostly unskilled migrants who settled here in the 80/90's. Our dhobi is a Bangali, our doodhwala was a Bangali when i was a kid and the methaiwala in our area is a Bangali aswell. And my English teacher in the 5th grade was a Bangali too. He had a funny accent. He was always scratching his back with a linear. All these people and others I have come across are very peaceful and not anti Pakistan. I would never call them 'Namak harams', save it for the Afghanis.

Yes, Bengali community is poor but so is a large section of the UP/Behari migrants who settled in the Landhi and Korangi areas where these migrants were given plots. Korangi accent is very familiar to Urdu spoken in Old Delhi, its kind of funny.
So why are we complaining about Bangalis here? Pakistan is a poor and developing country, but compared to our region we're the most tolerant of them all. A Bangali migrant is far better off living in Karachi than Mumbai, Delhi or Kolkota.

My final message to Bangla community; thank you for the roshgulla, chum chum, hilsa and the black tiger prawn curries and biryanis.

Great post, maturity beyond your years, proud of you young man. Although you missed out on mentioning Bengali Samosas made by our brothers that i regularly enjoy in Islamabad. I am from Karachi too, although settled in Islamabad since 2001. I have similar experience of Bengali ex-pats so won't repeat the same.

In my experience, they are hardworking people and hard work always pays off. There are Pakistanis living like those in Machchar colonies side by side facing similar hardships too. I am sure that those who migrated in the 80's to Karachi from whatever hardship they faced back home certainly ended up making a far better choice than those who went to India. You tube videos of humiliation of Bangalis living on the border with India are a good reference.

I think this thread needs to close now and Bengalis who supported mukti bahini and now their Indian masters should reflect on and rejoice the benefits they are reaping at the hands of their master, good luck to you and kudos to your choice, please keep your thumb parked in exactly the same hole as it has been since 1971.

As for those who live side by side and interact with ethnic Bangalis in our daily lives in Pakistan, may we all keep enjoying the delicious Bengali Samosas made by our brothers that we all love so much.

They are rajakar and their descendant getting true test of their Pakistan.I doubt any genuine Bangladeshi have gone that place to live. Before 1971, half a million Bengali lived in then West Pakistan, most of them repatriated after 1974.Some remained and latter joined by pro pak Bihari and Bengali who could not digest the liberation of Bangladesh.Patriotic Bangladeshi didn't stay there.Even Runa Laila came back in Bangladesh in 1974, leaving behind her popular singing career opportunity there. So did Shabnam.

I know 100s of Bangalis who came to Pakistan as late as in the 80s, My friends was in the money transfer business at that time and he used these illegal Bangalis to transfer money from BD. I have heard stories from them how they travel (walk, train, bus) thru India to reach Pakistan, told me horrifying stories about how some of their travel mates got caught by IDF and how they would wrap them up in bedsheets and bang them on the wall. Patriotism blows up thru anus once you dont have food on the table.
