Many people, especially China or Xi's haters, haven't made their logic clear. The protects are actually to ask Chinese government to stop its efforts. This is like a boss tells his employee"Stop your work and take a rest. Or I'll fire you". Isn't this easiest choice to make? For those who asked Xi to quit, will they be happy if Xi leaves his office and goes to bed watching World Cup?

This is weirdest political movement I have even seen. How could that happen. Easy to explain. USA is of course the hand under the table. USA desperately needs an excuse to unrest China. Even it's "please have a rest" excuse. As long as it could instigate people's emotion, USA will grasp it.

Can't be the party's fault ever ofcourse..USA is pleased like always being blamed as the perennial bad guy.

Wrong, in this case, delaying is saving lives, it allows the scientists to have more time to understand the virus and work out better treatments and drugs, besides, the mortality rate of the virus itself is fast decreasing over time.

I'm with agreement with Fauci that lockdowns is just a measure to buy more time, China should've pushed harder for vaccination for their elderly all these while:

It's only comparable to the flu in SG due to multiple waves of infections and very high rates of triple dose vaccination among those aged 80+. It confers the society a high level of hybrid immunity through infections and vaccination. China has neither.

And you have to take 4 doses of Sinovac (if you choose it) in SG to be considered to have minimum protection. Yet 3 dosage vaccination in China among those aged 80 above is only 40%.

Fucci is more or less irrelevant in US and for China too, his opinion didnt make such impact as that of Zhong in China, he was pretty much ignored by Trump. His opinion is only his, and China should not pay particular attention to him becos he is a health expert or health official in US, Chinese dont need to worship Americans, China has its own qualified health experts to rely on.

The problem is many Chinese elders dont want to be vaccinated and Chinese gov cant force them.

There's no easy fix. Deaths will still occur on a large scale, but at least you can try to minimize it.

It's the same in SG since last year, but that's because the vaccinated population make up the vast majority of the population (>95% primary series vaccination rate for most age groups). It doesn't mean that vaccination is useless.

That's why you need to divide by the denominator and look at the death rate, instead of just looking at the headline numerator.

So far, China has 0.125% covid death rate as that of US, if you instst it's because China only delays but not prevents death then it's your cognitive issue not others.
