The Pakistani Night - A Priceless Gem

Belligerent, have you ever seen our galaxy in reality?

These interstellar clouds are called nebulae (plural form of Latin for "cloud").

That is the place. Thanks for sharing your experience.

It's true that higher ISO settings usually produce noisier images in most cameras, but that can be dealt with software especially designed to reduce noise during post-processing. Even then, ISO settings of less than 3200 are usually recommended - most cameras produce bothersome levels of noise at ISO 3200.

This doesn't mean that clean images cannot be obtained at ISO 3200 or even ISO 6400 with all cameras. This shot as well as this one are both unprocessed exposures at ISO 6400. Shooting at ISO 16500 is plain overkill.

Personally, I like stars as points rather than as trails. Moreover, the Milky Way shows its true appearance and structure only at short (>35 s) exposures and high ISO settings (1600 or higher) or tracked exposures at lower ISO. But if your tripod is tracking the sky, the final photo would usually not be what one would call a nightscape.

thanks brother as I spent part of my life playing with Photoshop etc so now I am trying to do work without using these softwares and I must say your work is amazing. If possible please publish your work on Google images thanks :pakistan:

It sure is, but we need to act responsibly to preserve and promote this beauty.

Thank you for the appreciation. A few of the images are on our society's website: www.kaasts.com. Most others are on our mailing list and flickr.

Google image search does return our images. Is that what you meant?
