The Haqqani Test: If Pakistan Fails It There Must Be Consequences.

don't bs us about american interest in processes - the wording barely masked its preference of a specific result. us made similar statements about fair processes before the honduran elections merely to provide a political cover for a military junta not recognized elsewhere in latin america.

and it all comes down to the simple fact that the high justices in pakistan can tolerate no higher judge of fairness and impartiality of their deliberation and dispensing of justice without abetting some foreign country in undercutting their nation's sovereignty and dignity

Errrmmmm ..... I hope you can see the difference between Haqqani and Honduras! :D

Anyways, once the verdict is rendered, please remember these words of yours so that we all can rejoice that the High Justices of Pakistan tolerated no higher judge of fairness and impartiality of their deliberation and dispensing of justice. ;)

sure, in one case, american interests prevailed, and in the other, americans now feel defeated and consequently bitterly vengeful ("If Pakistan Fails It There Must Be Consequences"!!! - such angry words! and to just think of the expression that person must wear on his face brings a big smile to mine). what remains unchanged, however, is the disingenuous talk of fairness and justice of processes in every speech the americans delivered.

I do not know what the verdict in this case would be, but I am sure we BOTH will express our acceptance of the free and impartial verdict rendered by the Pakistani Supreme Court, as you have stated above, right? :D

i stick with what i said, when the judges write the verdict, we should all be happy if they do so without american approval on their mind.

but i know you are scarcely interested in pakistan's independence in dealing with a suspect and more interested in imposing an american doctrine of judicial independence on pakistan even at the price of pakistan's independence in making a political and perhaps strategic decision whether to punish haqqani. i am not going to be baited into conceding that somehow judicial independence is an important benchmark of pakistan's political health. a people builds its own institutions and usually finds pride in that, and even among chinese, the people's republic subjugates the judiciary to the highest legislative-cum-executive organ, while the republic of china divides constitutional powers between five branches and put a president on top of all of them. so my answer is it is none of your or my business how the *domestic* factors play out and sway pakistan's supreme court's decision, me a chinese, and you an american (although i remember differently from many years ago)
