Kamboja
"Kamboja" or "Kambuja" is the name of an ancient Indo-Iranian kingdom. They are believed to have been located originally in Pamirs and Badakshan in Central Asia.

The name has a long history of attestation, both in the Iranian and the Indo-Aryan spheres.

@Rajaraja Chola some of the sanskrit names are still used in ASEAN countries because of influence of Indian culture.

Thats fine..! Cos the modern Combodia also shares the old name.. When Rajendra Chola sent out his fleet to sri Vijaya, he subjugated the Kambojas too (combodia). !
Thanks :)

How is it possible? Indus Valley and Ganges people never interacted and were always seperated.

Rite? @pakdefender.

:D :D :D

Nope you are wrong Kamboja was in NW India, has nothing to do with Combodia.

Nope. Check it out. Combodia's older name is also Kampoja or Kampojaas or Kampuja.

Cambodia's ancient name is "Kambuja" (Sanskrit: कंबुज).[9] In 802 AD, Jayavarman II declared himself king marking the beginning of the Khmer Empire which flourished for over 600 years allowing successive kings to dominate much of Southeast Asia and accumulate immense power and wealth. The Indianized kingdom built monumental temples such as Angkor Wat and facilitated the spread of first Hinduism, then Buddhism to much of Southeast Asia. After the fall of Angkor to Ayutthaya in the 15th century, Cambodia was ruled as a vassal between its neighbors until it became a protectorate by the French in the mid-19th century. Cambodia gained independence in 1953.

What I meant was that Cambodia is not a successor state of ancient Kamboja of NW India. Kambojas were Indo-Iranians, Cambodians are not. Furthermore, the two are geographically far away. They are just namesakes.

some how its only indians who know about these imaginary emprires .. lol

Because they are useless and unimportant

its only the revisionist hindu history that gives these crack pot entities any importance even if they had hardly any influence over a particular area they colour it blue or something to show it was occupied by them

No one knows anything about them because they were nothing its like junglee empire in the middle of Africa

they just enjoy comparing this revisionist empires with the Romans ottomans or mughals

You're an idiot if you're comparing an empire which at its peak became larger than modern India to tribal clans.
