There's no denying that lives could have been saved had we acted with premonition and foresight.

There's also no denying that the second wave has exposed our faults, admitting otherwise is an exercise in folly.

Our polity has failed us, "is hamam me sab nange hai" . We should have the courage to accept valid criticism instead of trying to uphold some sanctified image of self. The efforts being put in to manage this crisis are commendable but that does not excuse the weight of all those preventable deaths. I personally have seen multiple deaths among relatives and acquaintances, young and old both taken before their time. Economic realities of small household have shattered, many are struggling, many are arising as heroes filling in to do what the government should have done. News of increased capacity, incoming aid and better management of this crisis brings relief but for those that have already left us and the rest who have to pick up the remaining pieces, big whoop I guess

Those who flaunt our democracy as a virtue must also know that the core tenent of democracy is accountability of those in power, even for the minute. To berate or mock its exercise is going against it.

how do explain Pakistan's covid figure ? With daily cases of only 4 to 5k, covid fatalities are always above 100.
In cases to deaths ratio Pakistan is the highest.

Pakistan death to new cases rate is 2.92% which is line with the figures of most countries. Even higher than Brazilian reported figures. Which means that not much figure fudging going on in Pakistan like India.

I will advise my country to focus on pakistan instead of worrying about India.

I have uncle who recently visited pakistan returned a week ago. He says in karachi nobody is following any sop's. There is no social distancing in markets, mosques, banks, restaurants, streets, etc etc. Only 2 in 20 people on streets are wearing masks. Neither federal, nor provincial or local govt is actively pursuing vaccines to vaccinate citizens.

We need to learn from India's failure. I've seen videos from India, how desperate the people are. How parents and loved ones are being transported in arms of family members on the back of a cart, rickshaw or bikes searching for beds or oxygen from one corner to another of towns and cities but still unable to save lives.

Rebirth in Islam is in another dimension and another world called hereafter... but it as physical as this world. And your rebirth is dependent on your actions in this world and that determines your station (or position) in the next. So in a way it's the same as Karma .

When I see and start to analyse the stats for the Covid-19 in the world. Indian's figures get me worried big time.

There are lots of skeletons in India's closet.
People with good conscious within India should expose the cover ups happening in India regarding infections and deaths.
When compared Indians figures with Brazil, USA and Mexico , other highly infected countries from Covid-19, it is clear something odd is going on in India.

India neither had a better health system or facilities compared to these countries. We know the weather doesn't make much difference to the spread of the virus in the population.

Even if we ignore what had happened in the past, the current figures , a weekly report for the current week shows extremely skewed figures for India.

For example USA had 1.5599 death rate. Brazil 2.715 and India has 1.045 death rate.
IF anything Brazil and Indian's death rates should have been similar. If we to calculate that USA health system , facilities and resources are way better than these two countries.

Second very interesting figures are for serious and critical patients. Despite India registering almost 10 times the new cases in the USA , its critical cases are still lower than USA. Brazil has slightly lower figures than India despite its infections are 322989 lower.
How that is possible!! especially as we know people are dying in India because lack of oxygen and other medical facilities. We also know that India is grossly under reporting deaths figures, according to India's own media, which is highly supportive of the government.

Something seriously wrong going on in India.
Indians should demand answers and real figures of Covid-19 infections and deaths.

Nope deaths and case ratios cannot be assumed to be the same across different countries.

Stripping out medical treatment, this is affected by temperate and humidity(virus degrades quickly in warm and humid conditions and so less "viral load" may be transmitted), but also obesity rate in population and also age profile of population - lower last 2 are the lower the IFR(Infection fatality ratio) is.
