CPC has voiced out strongly against 996.
why are you, a man, asking about a woman to gain weight ? ¿Voicing out will not suffice, enacting unambiguous law would.
"If you don't do it, someone will do it". This is also the threat that managements in Indian IT / ITES companies hold over the heads of employees who complain about mistreatment. And it is unfortunate that the employees themselves in the IT / ITES sectors don't organize into unions because they are mostly the newer middle class youth who devote time to cricket sport and mindless religo-nationalism. These employees become unquestioning robots / wage-slaves in mostly useless companies and neither protest their own mistreatment nor of their colleagues. India is a society of unnecessary high competition. How is China then different from India socio-economically through this modernized rural feudalism ?
But nice that Ming in the vid did rebel and left her deadening job. BTW Ming is pretty but she should put on weight and become voluptuous. Also, I felt sad for her cat who has to spend the day enclosed in the flat. Cats should be allowed to go out and enjoy. It is in their instinct to roam.
And since China is governed by a movement that calls itself as the Communist Party of China the movement should speak of either finding a way of bringing about the desire of Communism to eliminate money or at least evolve the current money system ( like I have proposed in this thread ). Be really Communist instead of just in name.
@MilSpec, you should watch the vid and you can reply to this post.

VIce is a very subtle propaganda arm ,trying to create dissatisfaction, revolt in china and all the adversaries of US hegemony. The Silicon valley startup works much harder than 996.

Imagine having the power to ban gaming beyond 3 hours a week but can only discourage 996, maybe the government doesn’t care about the people?
All IT workers work more than 996.
You wont be a top engineer even working 996. If you see the code check in time for Linus Torvald, it indicates he is working a longer hours than this.
why are you, a man, asking about a woman to gain weight ? ¿
Regardless of anything ,it's Chinese culture to work hard ,much more than any Indian can comprehend ,both in quality and quantity
In 2017, I worked in Shenzhen Yingdali Technology Co., Ltd. as a salesperson. I'll answer this question
Let me tell you how Chinese technology companies force employees 996.
According to Chinese law, they leave work at 5 p.m, but you can volunteer to work overtime, and overtime must be paid.
Even with overtime pay, most Chinese don't like overtime.
But most Chinese technology companies will provide free dinner at 6 p.m., as shown in the figure below, so many employees will work overtime for an hour and go home after dinner.

Most Chinese technology companies offer free laundry rolls at 7 p.m., so, you know.
Most Chinese technology companies provide taxis at 8 p.m
Most Chinese technology companies offer double overtime pay at 9 p.m., so, you know.
...
It's 996 now. I go to work at 9 a.m. and get off at 9 p.m.
I don't see why a massive and established company like AliBaba cannot have multiple teams for sales ( though this I think nowadays is done digitally ) and tech-support. These multiple teams can work in shifts thus reducing burden on the workers.
When I was writing, testing and developing my simple operating system some years ago I too would spend long hours on it. A few times I didn't sleep for three straight days.
But this state will be until the initial design time. Even SpaceX people wouldn't have slept for long when they were developing the initial prototypes. But once some idea / company is established ( like AliBaba ) it is no longer necessary that the worker should go without sleep or do a 996. Besides, sleeping or taking time off by the designer or engineer will give them new ideas.
Because the woman, like pretty Ming in the documentary, will look ever lovelier. Flat belly, small and hard breasts, thin thighs and a general gaunt look take away the loveliness of a woman. So many women are so lovely but they become victim to the current atmosphere that "thin is in and hot". Unfortunate. This has to be reversed.
Don't be patronizing, dear sir. Besides, "working hard and superior quality and quantity Chinese" haven't been able to overtake Microsoft in OS usage and not been able to overtake the development in the space sector especially against SpaceX.
1. Sorry I don't know what are laundry rolls.
2. About free dinners good that you said "most Chinese technology companies" because one girl in the documentary had dinner at home.
3. I don't think it's the question about overtime pay and I don't think the 996 workers really volunteer to work 996 and even after. The issue is what one of the women said in the documentary - "If you don't it, someone will do it". High competition for jobs in a society where money is very necessary for survival and moving up the socio-economic ladder.
Yes, the biggest reason is that everyone works overtime. It's too conspicuous to leave on time. I'm not afraid of my boss's anger. I'm a salesperson and have customers. No matter which company I go to, I'll be popular.I don't see why a massive and established company like AliBaba cannot have multiple teams for sales ( though this I think nowadays is done digitally ) and tech-support. These multiple teams can work in shifts thus reducing burden on the workers.
