In Viet Nam, the US/SVN alliance was fighting for partition like Korea. NVN was fighting for unification. Different political goals require different military tactics. Eventually, with the goal of partition, the US was bound to 'lose' and the loss was political, not military. Clearly, you have never served and never received any kind of military education.
