Ten Reasons Why Nepal Should Join India

The worry that Nepalese will loose trust and friendship out of concern.

Indians I think most of them welcome Nepal as 30 th state, the article is just a signal of Intent from Indian side ....... regarding Nepal joining India it is left to them to decide .... if they agree just like Sikkim then the concerns you have expressed will not be a problem.

Regarding China ..... with the rise of China the policies and geo politics will change to counter the influence.

We have to be logical instead of being emotional .

How do you think majority of Nepalese will react to any such proposition ?

what has India has to offer to Nepal to lose its sovereignty ?

India is not US ....India is still a third world country with 1/4th of world poor and hungry people ...

India has long way to go and develop to provide honorable and comparable standard of living to its masses ...

Till India has achieved something tangible for itself ..expecting any other country to join India is laughable ....

Most Indians don't care about Nepal or anything else for that matter .

most Indians only worry about their daily bread ....

Let it be loudly clear ...Nepal is not Sikkim ....

As long as there is no such proposal from Nepal ...we have no reason to waste our time of ifs and buts ...and vitiate the nice unique friendly relations that we share with Nepal ....

Regarding the concerns of Nepalese ...... you are correct ..... But India just signaled its intent ...... it is an initiation based on policies.

Nothing wrong showing the intent for a just cause.

Nepal is a poor country and their percapita is low.

Nepal should join India if Nepalese want to join India,End of the story.

How many people have met Nepalese in there actual life???? Those people can only understand how Nepal and India are close to each other.

Should every poor country aim to join richer neighboring country ...?

Or should poor countries work hard to develop itself ....?

India was also poor when it got independence ...and hell it remains poor even today ...

Tomorrow if since China will be much richer than India ..should it ask India to join it...
and how Indians will take it ?

I have met quite a few Nepalese in my life ..
and I am happy to see the regards that average Nepalese have in theirs hearts about India and Indians ....
I would love to see that it stays that ways ...

I doubt Indians will agree to join China ..... But there is high chance that Nepalese will agree to join India.

@jarves is right !!!

@jarves is right !!!

If there is high chance of Nepalese agreeing to join India ..why are we wasting time ?

Let us go ahead and grab Nepal ...
and afterwards let us grab Bhutan ....followed by Bangladesh ...then Maldives ....then Sri Lanka ....

and then Seychelles ....let us no restrict ourselves ....Let us go and grab Mauritius ....

Well let us expand our horizons ....let us grab Pakistan , Afghanistan and so on ....

I am sure ...now that India is doing so well ..al theses countries will be clamoring to present themselves on platter to us ...

Let us oblige all of them !!!

No,not like this!!!
We will unite Nepal like Sikkim and not "grab" its lands or "annex" it

Nepal is a sovereign state it is upto to the the people of Nepal what they want.

what about Bhutan ?Points:-
Bhutan royal family educated in India.

Bhutan signed the 1949 treaty of friendship and renewed this in 2007 declaring India will help guide it's foreign policy without interfering in the internal affairs or declaring Bhutan as a protectorate. Move was initially to prevent Chinese claims on Bhutan as traditional Chinese territory. Given the existence of the treaty, the report is laughable. But then this is never proof enough. So allow me to go on.

Indian Nationals travelling between Bhutan & India do not need Visa. An identity document, be it either passport or an election commission I. D card or a Pan card or any document proving Indianness is sufficient to walk across the border.

Any national apart from an Indian is charged $200 per day for the tours. Indians are charged much much lower. Indian Rupee accepted everywhere.

Indian military posts and doctors inside Bhutan are the preferred medical centres for treatment not only for tourists but also for local Bhutanese.

India allows 16 entry and exit points for Bhutanese trade with other countries (the only exception being the PRC) and has agreed to develop and import a minimum of 10,000 megawatts of electricity from Bhutan by 2020.

Bhutan runs on GNH (Gross National Happiness) Index, and not a GDP which is a unique concept in the world. The country does not want to become a significantly large economy. It is somewhere between a monarchy and socialist state.

It is a pro-Indian country afaik and India should look forward to offer them a merger.

Another reason being they can't hang in such a small place between big giants.

Iam saying the proposal should be offered to them, who is saying to use force. China sooner or later will
try to get Bhutan. ( because of chicken's neck)It finds Nepal useless for some reasons but Nepal ball licks China inspite being a
hindu nation.

I hope NAMO will offer both countries to join their Actual home land. is dosti ko restedari me badel dene ka time ho guya hai !!!

@Srinivas @he-man @Spring Onion what do u think ?

Where is Mount Everest?

-India

I support Bhutan and Nepal with India, and India minus Kashmir.

Anyway, BD also should be merged with either India (based on ethnicity) or PK (based on religion) after a new plebiscite, it should not be separate country, because it cannot run, practice its sovereignty and solve its own problems alone!

The idea and geo-politices are changed, we need new maps now.

bhai pata hai you upset with recent BD performance in Cricket..........that doesn't mean it should cease to exist :D

well word is different but intention is essentially same ...

We should be happy with what we have ...
and do best with what we have ..
Let us develop our country to the extent that countries themselves will clamor for it ..rather than we expressing our intentions

Bhutan Royal children were educated at Sanawar, the same school where Ranbir Kapoor also studied.

They were seniors of my neighbor.
