No one claimed first flight except media,
Ok. No one said. But no one denied it either. Many sources available & this one is from forum.
Tejas MK-2 will fly in 2015

Correction : Mr. Saraswat did said it
Stealth version of India's Light Combat Aircraft [LCA] Tejas, Mk. 3 on the cards - AA Me, IN

last year HAL Chief said 2017 first flight and 2019-20 production.
I am not expert but standard testing procedure is to test all systems and whole platform in every season twice that take minimum 2 years and 500/600 test flights minimum. Then your trials or IOC. That will take minimum 1 year. ( IAF took 1.5 years for IOC-2 )
So how is 2019-20 is going to be production years ???

PS. HAL also said 2/4 MK-1s will be out from production in March,2014.
I don't see any yet. Have you ???
Even IAF future charts show first mk2 sqrd by 2022.
IAF will plan according to what HAL will tell them. They really don't have any choice with it. If HAL tell them MK-2 will be available in 2025 they will update their schedule
Thats one of the reasons IAF is pissed off with them.
And charts will change according to delay

Referred to an article published previously, it stated the first LCA-MK-2 prototype will be ready by 2013 and will make its first flight by 2014...and series production in 2016 :argh:. Ab HAL bol relle hai ki 2017....2017 mein bolenge 2020.

Tejas Mk2 M-MRCA

The exact words were...."With the Ministry of Defence sanctioning US$542.44 million (Rs2,431.55-crore) for the Bangalore-based Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) in order for it to undertake full-scale engineering development of the ‘Tejas’ Mk2 medium multi-role combat aircraft (M-MRCA), it would seem, on paper at least, that ADA as per its own projections is now well-positioned to roll-out the first ‘Tejas’ Mk2 prototype by September 2013 and make this prototype fly by December 2014, following which Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) would begin series-producing the M-MRCA by 2016."

Get used to these loudmouth psu's......................they are a piece of crap and will remain so till they are disbanded.
Now i am ready to face barrage of attacks from the defendors of psu's:coffee:

With the current rate...................foc of mk 1 will take another 1 year atleast, maybe 2
And only god knows the status of mk2:crazy:

Then why spend 1 trillion on the F-35 if UCAV is the future post 2020 ?

We have not spent even 2 billion on Tejas as yet.

no offense that's the problem with the Indian government it under funds your BIG projects, and so it drags out for too long or fails

just look at Kaveri engine. to develop and build a advance jet engine from scratch costs billions, but the Indian government has only spend less than a billion on the project over 2 decades.

and the F-35 is in a whole different class than Tejas Mk.2 or Mk3 and UCAVS are the future but you are still going to have 5th gen fighters til 2040-50

1 trillion is for thousands of F-35 over 40 years of operation.
the freaking F-35B is what killing the whole thing.

hahaha...so pathetic.

By the time pathetic junk II (i mean tejas MK II) takes first flight , We'll have JF-17 block II "deployed" and will be working on JF-17 block III inshallah....

Isn't F-35B supposed to be the first F-35 variant to achieve IOC by the end of 2015?
probably because the British need them ASAP for the Queen Elizabeth Carrier so it get's priority

Atleast better than 2024 timeline for miraj upgradation with $70 million prize tag.
Either scrap Rafale deal or scrap upgadation deal of miraj, jaguar and migs. ANd put that money in other weapon platforms.

hey dummy.... MoD has sanctioned Mk2 Development to ADA not to HAL. LCA is ADA/ DRDO's brain child. no need to drag HAL in it.

HAL's Production plan will be ready once ADA incorporates all the changes in Mk2
