Tata Motors to set up second light vehicles unit in Bangladesh

Thanks for reminding me.... so now the corrected sentence should be... TATA produced car should not be as bad as Indian maruti suzuki one.... as TATA is an indian company so if any 1 will go to buy vehicle from TATA... all the black cab will come in to their mind... and nitol should also be careful about the quality...as they will export those car as Bangladeshi made to europe... so reputation of Bangladesh is on the line...

From the artle, it doesn't seem that they are actually planning on producing their cars in this plant. From the models mentioned, it seems that they are concentrating on mini trucks & maybe for some rural transportation.

Where did you see that I have told that it will be under Nitol brand??? But obviously it will be exported to Europe as Bangladeshi made product to get the duty free advantage and do not forget Nitol has 40% stake on it... Even though for now it will be sold with the TATA brand but in the recent future Bangladesh may export its own made and brand product to Europe. At that case if this product quality is **** than it will effect bd product and its image.

N who told you that because of being poor bd people bought black taxi cab??? Yes true yellow taxi cab was twice expensive than bharti black taxi cab.. but the isuues which played big role here is that black taxi cab was supposed to give 700 taka per day to the owner and on the other hand 1000 taka for the yellow taxi cab... so buying it with 2 times more price will result in around 1.5 time earning from yellow taxi cab. Other issue was that per kilometer charge of yellow cab was higher than black taxi cab.. so people used to take less ride on yellow taxi cab... these were the issues... but after buying they realized it was a wrong decision to do so as after taking in to consideration the maintenance cost and breaking down of the black taxi cab within 2 to 3 years...

So, get a life before commenting all these bs over here... in dhaka majority of the car from Toyota... Marcedes.. BMWs are also quite common over here... unlike kolkata where all the back wars indian models ply on the road...

N regarding TATA and UK ... that was due to buying of Land Rover and Jaguar... but any way how many TATA truck was exported to uk???

Once again ill make it clear to u TATAS will never export its car in the name of nito...& they are also not gonna export from bangladesh...may be they will export some to bangladesh from india:azn:...should i tell u in bengali now:undecided:

Tata will never export its products to Europe from bangladesh...cozz its even more cheaper to make those vehicles in india & far more easier to transport it from india..cozz Distance from bangladesh to Europe is more than India to Europe....& Europe is well aware of TATA's quality(jaguar & land rover)...:pop:

You didn't get his point. Bangladesh has preferential duty access to the Euro zone which India does not.

Again, The brand is TATA . Actually the article says that Nitol only assembles the trucks, so parts manufactured in India. Don't worry it's our reputation which is at stake here

I didnt know daka is shifted to las vegas ....or are u taking about some European city called daka....

Regarding option ... yes there are options..... bd people bought it cause after the introduction of Taxi Cab.... yellow taxi cab of japan was costing around 7 lacs and black taxi cab of TATA was costing around 3.5 lac... which was distributed by the same Nitol group... which is making the venture here... but just after buying it started to create lots of problem and was required maintenance almost regularly... so eventual cost became high and after 2 or 3 year most of the cab become nonoperational and useless and dumped.... That was 1st time so people had no idea... but this time people will give a 2nd thought to by TATA product... so improvement of quality is must and specially if they want to export the cars to europe.

In defense of Tata, smaller cabs like 750-1000 cc falls apart in a few years in a city like Dhaka. In the mid eighties Daihatsu Charade deisels were imported from Japan to run as cabs and suffered the same fate. A smaller car can't take the beating of the road. Check the yellow cabs in NY city, they seem to have an energizer bunny somewhere in them, and just keep going. Well these are ford crown Victoria, large size cars.

Its natural for people from countries with a immature automotive industry to take cars from different entities but from the same country to be same.its also natural to be such dumb that they buy a maruti 800 as a cab!.its also natural to cricticise the owner of the jaguar-landrover brand.which concludes that, sami, for you natural equates dumbness.

Excuse Mr. Jako where did you see that I have criticized TATA... I was talking about the black taxi cab.... n who ever made that... if you would have a small brain then after reading you should have realized what was the reason for that criticizing... N regarding TATA obviously it is a big company... but if it likes to be comparable with respect to car manufactured by world leading company it will have to go a long away even after buying land rover and jaguar... the main reason for buying those company is nothing but getting technological know how... but it has a prospect of improving if it can do reverse engineering and apply those to their car just like china...

I have never seen a dumb *** like you... did you read the TITLE & HEADING of the article... if you would do so then you would not make such dumb comment....

Here I am posting it again for you ....

Tata Motors to set up second light vehicles unit in Bangladesh
New base may help firm make deeper inroads into Europe, which provides duty- and quota-free access

This is clearly intended for Bangladesh market and to enter European market as duty free product....

So, from where you fool get the idea that transportation cost will be greater than getting the duty free access???

N just remind you Land rover and jaguar is an European company by origin and even it is bought by TATA those cars are sold by their brand not by the name TATA.... if you want to compare TATA's standard in terms of Europe then compare truck of TATA which it basically make and compare those trucks quality with respect to other European trucks standard.

Get a like you fu-king moron.

Yes I know about that.. it was a wrong decision... but if you still take in to consideration about the quality ... do you think it would be wise to bring those car even for personal use???

Trucks would be manufactured in India and then sent as completely-knocked-down units to Bangladesh for assembly. This is to make use of their concession from EU

Don't buy it if you don't like it. TATA is just using the trade concession from EU to rake in more profits, nothing more

Ugh. I can believe even this news can be twisted to make India look bad. BD members should have a more open mind.

Actually you have a point there, the small Japanese cars like the Daihatsu Charade etc. were made for Japanese roads. Not for the roads in the sub-continent. About 20 years ago, my family had a Nissan compact car in India. The suspension (naturally) required constant attention while the engine and drive-train ran beautifully. Since then roads in India have improved, that helps to prolong the life of the cars.
BTW, i remember roads in Chittagong from 2005. Hope they have received some attention since then. Dhaka's roads were better.

But i would'nt dream of driving a NY yellow cab kind of car in India, with the cost of gasoline being what it is.

http://www.defence.pk/forums/bangladesh-defence/63772-tata-truck-plant-near-dhaka.html

New Delhi, June 30: The Tatas are planning to join hands with its car distributor in Bangladesh — Nitol Motors — for a truck plant at Kishoregunj near Dhaka. The facility will manufacture 30,000-40,000 Ace pick-ups a year.

So get over this idea... that car will not be manufactured in India... In the coming years Bangladesh will be hot spot for manufacturing... cause all of its advantages...
